Ronaldo
Lascelles gave him a nice little kiss after the second goal. I liked that.
Elma
Could see Rafa bringing in someone in the summer and dropping Gayle to back up, as Keegan did when we went up replacing Kelly and Peacock with Cole and Beardsley. Can't see Gayle or Mitro being first choice if we go back up, but would be surprised if Gayle were sold at all either in Jan or the summer. He's proven to be a perfectly capable squad player in the prem.
TRon
Highly doubt we'll do that. Plus, Gayle's goal record for Palace was very good considering he was never given a run in the side, played out wide and as a sub a lot by their braindead procession of managers. Agreed. We might well be in the market for a proven striker when we go up, but there's every chance Gayle will be hitting goals at that level as well if you go by his limited opportunities under Pardew. It would be daft to discard him without giving him a chance.

Paully
I am guessing the thinking behind this is - Gayle will not be as prolific in the PL and we could sell him for a good price. Then put that money towards somebody with a better record at the top level? His goals per minutes record in the top flight is superb - I'm sure it's 1 every 180 minutes! Hanshithispantz
Cannot see any reason he won't continue to score in the Premier League like. He's on course to score about 40 goals as it is down here
Mole_Toonfan
As long as we create chances he'll score in the top flight, i have no doubt about that and i was very apprehensive about his signing. Not sure why this is even a discussion tbh.
Tubestationatmidnight
Exactly. If he is scoring regularly now I doubt playing the likes of boro west brom hull Swansea palace etc is just going to make him stop
afar
He's only played 13 games for the 13 goals ? That's just insane !
Hanshithispantz
Since people were moaning about him being poor in-front of goal in the first half against Norwich. http://i.imgur.com/poNTr3X.png
joeyt
Rafa loves taking him off after exactly 79 minutes
U2
So fucking precise with those substitutions
Cronky
Considering he was playing for one of the poorer teams, and he seemed to be a sub half the time, his scoring record in the Premiership isn't too shabby. He shows great composure when a chance comes his way. He never seems to get flustered or over-excited, and reads the game well. He's a late developer so who knows what more there is to come. He never looked fazed at playing in the Premiership and caused problems for the opposition every time I saw him.
Andy84
10 million seems an absolute snip for him. Just a natural finisher and the best signing we've made since Ba
mrmojorisin75
His second goal was just sexual all round. Seeing us score team goals like that is much more satisfying, compared to previous years when occasional individual brilliance was all we really had to rely on. Aye, less of the magic and it's now magical play Well said
huss9
mccormack for me, like marra.
afar
mccormack for me, like marra. Lol that one looks a bit silly right now, has he scored for Villa yet ? How much did they pay for him ? At least he still has youth on his side
BlackandWhite
McCormack only done so well at Fulham because the team was built around him. Now he's at a team not built around him and he can't even get into it at the moment. Only scored twice in 11 appearences as well. Gayle is so much better and doesnt need to be the centre of the team to do well.
Pilko
Quite how anyone at Villa thought paying £12m for McCormack would be a good idea is beyond me, like. You'd think they would have learned when they paid nearly £20m for Darren Bent despite having a team desperately lacking in invention and assumed that it would be the answer to all their problems. AyeDubbleYoo
Most championship strikers are fairly blunt TBH, compared to Gayle anyway. All the ones that have been hyped up have been a massive letdown to actually watch.
Hanshithispantz
McCormack has been really good in the past like, the only contention is his age (30). He's a fairly prolific striker in this league and he's good on the ball. Like Pilko says they needed a midfield though, not another striker. EDIT: Not aimed at Ian. Wullie
McCormack's goal record coupled with the fact he's never been in a team anywhere near promotion should have set alarm bells ringing, and I said as much when they signed him. Darren Bent is a fair comparison. All goals and offers sod all else.
HawK
Since people were moaning about him being poor in-front of goal in the first half against Norwich. http://i.imgur.com/poNTr3X.png Martin O'Neill levels of arbitrary substitutions. At least Rafa is doing it to rotate, O'Neill would want until minute X Y and Z in every single game to try to change it IIRC. I'm sure Brummie mentioned this when he went to Sunderland and low and behold it played out, same minutes with both clubs
Hanshithispantz
I watched him a fair bit for Leeds and I dsagree like, works the channels and has the ability to run at defenders and brings his teammates into the game well, he's not a poacher. Villa didn't need him though, Kodjia looks a great buy.
xLiaaamx
Villa are 18 points behind us and not relevant anymore.
