Christian Atsu (1992–2023)

I knew that he was supposed to be quick and irrational, able to beat his man and that. However, i didn't expect him to have that silky natural touch as he showed today at least. There's a lot of players out there that can be quick footed and dribble past their man at times, but many of these are quite raw and miss that bit of flair and that extra bit of touch on the ball. He has a lot to prove and has failed before for whatever reasons, but he has more natural talent in his feet than i thought he would have. Hopefully he can have his breakthrough with us and grow as a player and settle down for once.

Way too early to expect anything future wise after a few flashes of brilliance. Just wanted to say that he's got a better touch than expected. Also thought that he did well and köpt it simple when needed.

He was class today tbh. Had their FB on toast and made loads happen. If that was a Ben Arfa performance (regardless) of oppo, we would have been wanking over it. And I love HBA

The only player we have that is very capable of beating his man on his own?

Ritchie?

I wouldn't class him in that category tbh. He's very good but not really that kind of player imo.

Perez can were he to rediscover any of his form

True, must of been too long since he was in that kind of form so i forgot about him. At least he can beat his man when in tight positions (maybe not so much in open play)

The only player we have who can offer some genuine pace on the counter, which considering the way Rafa sets up, he should be starting more often.

Atsu is  a LUCKY player... not much quality. Let's examine his record

  • vs.Rotherham: he scored a fluke goal
vs. Norwich: He came on when we were down 2-3. Did nothing, but we won 4-3
vs QPR: We were already 4-0 up, yet he missed an open net (hit the bar)
vs Wolves: We were up 2-0 when he came on. Did nothing to improve the scoreline
vs Wolves: We were 0-2 down when he cam on. He did nothing to pull us even

So?
