Excellent day for our local sides.

Gateshead promoted.

York in the play offs.

Scarborough promoted.

South Shields still just the shitty Shields mackems that they are.

Superb stuff. Some achievement from all those involved given where they were a couple of years back on the verge of going out of business.

Final day win for Blyth n all. Plenty for them to build on next season.

In some ways, it might have been better had Brackley not conceded, so they would have been 3 behind, not mathematically confirmed, albeit an insurmountable GD which couldn't be overturned unless anything dodgy went on, no pressure at all, but the opportunity to 100% officially confirm it on the final day at home. Still, massive well done to them, a great achievement,

Scarborough won 2-1, so they will be joining Darlington, Spennymoor, Blyth, possibly York in the National League North next season, but NOT Gateshead.

With a bit of luck Guiseley will survive at the expense of Telford, get rid of one of the longer trips in the NLN, although Kings Lynn will be back on the list next season.

Just saw that Boston United conceded a 90+4 equaliser so Spennymoor have the most outside chance of still finishing top 7, but while nothing crazy like needing a huge swing, it'll take a LOT going for them. Had they beaten Guiseley who had only won 1 of their last 11 matches and got thumped 0-6 at home to Gateshead 2 weeks ago, they would have had a good chance, but they've pretty much blown it. Obviously still a hell of a lot to to in the playoffs should you get there, especially if you finish 4th-7th, and unlikely they would have gone up, but would have been nice to have extended their season.

Blyth win 3 in a row too.

It's handy that Blyth are safe, as they have the NSC final at SJP on Thursday, followed by a long trip to Gloucester on Saturday. They can treat the last league game as a kickabout.

 definitely York, which will be some occasion. (Nee chance the Minstermen win the play-offs tbh).

Chuffed for Scarborough. Totally taken me by surprise their brilliant season, had no idea they were on such a run. Good for them, it's a really good club and the town (like York) deserves a team higher up than this level. They've both always been very well supported; both routinely get really good attendances.

Very pleased for Gateshead too.

Crazy that Blyth and Gloucester are in the same regional division. 275 miles apart, cross country.

Congratulations to Iron Mike and The Heed. Great news for a club that hasn't had an easy history.

Guest HTT II

So happy for Gateshead, I know several people involved with the running of that club and what they’ve done is magnificent, I’m happy for a few mates too who are long time ‘Heed fans who’ve been through the mill. It’s such a great family club, and well done wor former set penis specialist Williamson. Again they play some great football, to play like that at this level is something else. Also chuffed Ashington won a Cup at the weekend, chuffed for a mate who plays for them! NE football from grassroots to NUFC is hot at the moment. I know we don’t like them, but it would be good if the mackems got back to the PL as I believe them being in the same league as us can only help spur us on and I also wish all other NE teams were right up there doing well.
