It’s a massive shame, but Bedlington I think is just too close to both Blyth which has 2 teams, Ashington, and Morpeth to make it work.

I think the issue is more them having been booted out of their ground by the council, as I remember.  There's no issue with support, at least no more issue than other Northern League clubs have.  Alnwick routinely get crowds under 100, other NL2 clubs get 20 or 30 max and get by.

There was plenty of talk of shenanigans and impropriety for years, but it's a shame that it's gone this way. The drop to the Alliance would have been rough for them, 2PM kickoffs and no lights on a darkening evening in Scots Gap being biffed by Wallington is an experience (not sure of their results against Wallington tbf)

Spartans 2-0 down at home to Consett.

Doomed.

Looks like Blyth Town are two down at home as well.

Ah well, will result in more local games for us Northern League fans if nothing else, I guess. Haven't been to Spartans for decades.

Spartans lost 2-1. Next up - Ashington away on Boxing Day, which i may well go to.

Said it before, but there's something badly gone wrong at Spartans over the last 5 years. No amount of new owners, managers and players have been able to arrest the slide. :(

The end for Bedlington Terriers, but it would seem to have been on the cards for some time. A sad day for the town. :(

CLUB STATEMENT

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that Bedlington Terriers Football Club must announce that the club will be folding with immediate effect.

This is an incredibly difficult moment for everyone connected with the Terriers. A club with such a long and proud history, built by generations of players, volunteers, supporters, and officials, has been an important part of the local community for many years. The memories created on and off the pitch will never be forgotten.

The decision to bring the club to an end has not been taken lightly. Despite the tireless efforts of those involved to keep the club going, circumstances have made it impossible to continue. It is heartbreaking to see a club with so much tradition and passion come to an end in this way.

We would like to thank all players, managers, coaches, committee members, sponsors, and supporters who have represented and supported Bedlington Terriers Football Club over the years. Your commitment, loyalty, and love for the club are what made it special.

While the club may no longer continue, its legacy will live on in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of being part of Bedlington Terriers Football Club.

Ah man, that's sad to hear, I remember many good games between Whitley Bay and Terriers, especially around the time they got taken over by that American millionaire who traced his roots back to Bedlington and declared himself Lord Bedlingtonshire.

My one and only trip to the old Wembley was to the Vase final to watch Terriers-Tiverton. Even managed to exit via one of the towers on the way out- had to cane it back home for a GCSE exam

the next day.

A real shame for NE non-league. I hope

Bedlington can find a new club and a new ground.

Don't think he took them over, but he milked them as a publicity tool and gifted the club a big digital scoreboard which I believe the club then couldn't afford to run or maintain. Dubious ownership of the club likely hasn't helped their plight either, but council kicking the club out of Dr Pit was always looking like the final straw. It's all just incredibly sad.

7 out of 7 defeats for Gateshead. Heading back to the National North.

Was kind of obvious this would happen after the huge squad exodus and cheapo management appointment, sadly.

Aye. What kept them going so well was their style of play was unique for that level. After Williamson they had Elliot who carried it on. They hoped Magnay could keep it going but results started to drop off. The moment they appointed externally and lost that edge, they were always going to drop massively. Shame.

Gateshead 0-3 Carlisle. Poor game. Gateshead will definitely be playing Northen Premier League football next season and I can't decide if Carlisle were rubbish or just didn't bother getting out of 2nd gear because they didn't have to.

Attendance 4,492 (3,500 very quiet fans from Carlisle).

Thoroughly enjoyed my maiden visit to Woodhorn Lane, made better by the 3 points for Spartans. :)

A tight game, but over the moon Spartans edged it.

It's a great non league ground, possibly the only new built one that retains the character of one of the old traditional NL grounds, and the stand is excellent.

Must have been great with a crowd that size inside it.
