Miercoles Posted Saturday at 14:25 Share Posted Saturday at 14:25 Not having this dude on page two fellas. Feel like of somebody did his YouTube highlights for 24/25 he'd look fucking amazing. Also, he deserves special credit for how he set his buzzer sound to "just put it in the net" for Burn's Christmas quiz (2:16)
Newcastle Fan Posted Wednesday at 20:50 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:50 A typical Murphy performance, so much good and so much bad at the same time. Still love him though, a vast lmprovement from Miggy's aimless running.
Pilko Posted Wednesday at 21:05 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:05 That cross for the goal, absolutely inch perfect dip on it. Lovely.
NSG Posted Wednesday at 22:46 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:46 Thought it was his poorest performance in a while tonight, but still an excellent cross for the first goal.

Yes, the past few games he's not been good at all, he was a bit of a spare part, frustrating because you can't get too annoyed, he plays poor but manages a goal or assist. It's got be the priority position to fill in the summer. Have to get someone with very high quality.
kingxlnc
Was screwing at that one he didn't cut back to ISak in second half No need to be that greedy - I thought Murphy was in the team because he wasn't greedy, but he does make the wrong decisions still quite a lot. He's not a player that's good when he has time on the ball, instinct is best for him

Lands between two defenders where Isak's movement is boss to find space. Definitely lovely stuff.
GeordieDazzler
16 G/A in 32 games, those are great numbers like
gjohnson
If he wasn't already playing for us we'd be looking at him saying he'd be worth signing. His numbers are up there

Don't see him as the weak link anymore....does it matter if he plays poor but still contributes a goal or assist? Isn't that ultimately what matters? Going back a bit Inzahgi was a pretty useless footballer, but scored a boatload of goals

Fair point, but how many of us actually watch a full 90 if we're not playing? How many do any of the so called commentators watch? I'd suggest most just look at tables and numbers. It's almost surprising that talksport or whatever isn't handshandying themselves to have him off to Spurs or Man utd

Ellis H
The longer opposition players and managers think Murphy is crap and offers nothing the more we’ll benefit from him. I’d rather some of our own fans didn’t think that but that’ll clearly never change at this point.
Kid Icarus
I do feel for him a bit like. He obviously has his limitations, but his bottom line is seriously impressive and has been decent for ages. That knockdown for Isak as well man. 👌 Edited 13 hours ago by Kid Icarus

He's sometimes painful to watch as a footballer, but this season has been a success and he's played his part. Not a great footballer, but that right foot is a bit of a wand. Especially in the final third. I get what you mean though. Actually thought if Bruno hadn’t under hit a lot of through balls he’d of walked off HT having a great half. He made some really intelligent runs around the fullback but wasn’t found.

This is a great point, if you watch Murphy over a full game he often incites frustration from a lot of fans as you will see some of his bad moments. The thing is it’s his good moments that often literally define results for us for this season. Hes pretty insane value for money, if the sort of £30-40k range is accurate.. I’m not sure there’s another player in the league this season that has provided the output he has relative to his cost. CPL
Laurent Robert had great goals and assists but contributed little defensively. Is that much different to what Murphy is when he has hit and miss games? I am maybe comparing chalk and cheese here and I'm aware Robert was a lot more exciting to watch! gbandit
Murphy is a randomiser, you never know if he’s going to drop a great cross in or smash a strike off his laces, or lose the ball in his own half trying to pass three yards. The one thing he’s consistent on is that he’s terrible at winning 50-50s

Always remember the corner fuming at Robert for just letting Bernard overlap and not making any attempt to support him every single game. Still love the man though. He was never the strongest or bravest i agree but do feel it’s forgotten what happened and probably worried how easily it could happen again.
