Gola
Makes sense why Elanga started then if Murph injured. Other option is Barnes or Gord right and I don't think that's ever come off.

Lush Vlad
Better right foot than Beckham. Him and Wissa are going to link up very well if this 45 minutes is anything to go by.
ponsaelius
Probably one of the best crossers around but he is rubbish at football
Aiston
Good game from Murphy and Barnes, cross spam the most dangerous we were all game.
TRon
Good first half, shame some of those crosses never quite found a player.
Newcastle Fan
He is so much better than Elanga it's crazy, could've just signed his twin and we'd be sorted.
arnonel
Ball watching for their goal though, but his crossing is sooooooooo good

Wissa in the right place just too high for him at times.
Lush Vlad
I thought due to the sheer volume of crosses and how he looked to do it early. His ability on the ball wasn't as evident or as annoying last night. I think he ran it out of play and double touched it off under no pressure, mind Still our best option on the right. Especially if Wissa plays.

Murphy’s been here for eight years. Maybe we just need to wait another four and Elanga will have a similar resurgence!
Chicken Dancer
It's 2025 and Jacob Murphy is our most consistent winger. Mad really.

Especially if Wissa plays. He's not a very good footballer generally, but he can put in a wicked cross, so worth seeing if he can hit it off with Wissa like he did with Isak. There were signs in the first half especially. Elanga is getting slated at the moment, but he might find it easier playing with Wissa as well. I’m delighted for Murphy, but it’s very concerning that with 18 months left on his deal and him only going to lose that half of yard speed, that we are no closer to transitioning away from that type of play. He’s such a key player, that we are almost going to have to give him a new deal, rather than sell in summer. Lotus
This guy……. The technique required to put a cross in the way he can is a rare thing indeed. But so much of the rest of his game…..fuuuuuuuuck me! Doing the simple stuff well seems too much for him too often. I was watching him thinking ‘this is why we bought Elanga….’ Then Elanga came on….. All forgiven.
Donut
Hot and cold tonight like most of the team but my word he can put dangerous crosses in like no other. It must've been frustrating for him tonight there were no one on the end of them.
jack j
General play infuriating Some great crosses A typical Murphy performance really. If someone got on the end of the great balls the general play would be ignored, but they never so its another average night from one of our wingers Edited December 26, 2025 by jack j
John P
Thought it was a mistake to take him off to be honest. Would have backed him to land a cross on someone's head in the last 20 mins

Was an odd one and he’s not one you’d expect needing rest.
