He certainly looks half a yard slower and I'd imagine it's this hamstring niggle that is playing on his mind.  You're always a bit nervy about fully opening up when you have a tight hammy or are coming back from an injury.

Hope it's another one of these injuries that can be managed and he won't be missing for a long time.  As he is very unique in what he brings out wide and he is perfect for certain games and situations.

He and Schar are the last two Benitez-signed players.

Yep, though The Juice signed a year before (July 2017) The Hunk (July 2018).  (Might have just made up that latter nickname…).

I think his failure to protest the penalty decision spoke volumes about him. He ended up looking guilty instead of charging to the ref to demand it be overturned. He made up VAR's mind for them. He's just not a top level competitor, and while he can swing in a lovely cross given the chance, the rest of his game is levels below.

His general play has never been great but lately it's been tragic, struggles to keep the ball, gives it away by either trying to drive inside or does that daft left footed pass which goes straight to an opposition player

His crossing has been of such a high standard it would compensate for his poor play in general, however his crossing isn't quite there of late but witj the general play regressing so much he's now entering into liability territory

Love the guy for his time here and I know he'd absolutely be fine with a squad role but do think to raise the level of the squad we need another RW, someone that is comfortable in possession

I remember when several posters were that exasperated by his performances that they were saying he should never wear the shirt again. Then he started converting thecodd banger and began his wonderful relationship with ratboy. I seriously doubt he'll reach anywhere near that level again

He’s below average in general play. Well below. Has a great cross in him though and a good attitude. Athletic too. Think that’s enough for EH tbh. Just a case of getting into positions with time and space to do the one thing he’s good at.

With Tino and Miley out, we should be playing with a back three and using him at right wing back, with Elanga ahead of him on that right side.

Murphy will look to play Elanga in early every single time he makes a run in behind and Murphy can then also whip in crosses from right wing back everytime he has a chance.

Need to make sure Bruno is also on the right side of the midfield two as he does the best job of showing for the ball and demanding it off players, which will help both Murphy and Elanga on that side.

I’d like to see this too

Yeah, you don’t want him anywhere near your own or the middle thirds these days. Just gives the ball away for fun. Has to play high and wide on the right or not at all.

He has poorish games like today, but he played a massive role in the win with the unorthodox first touch that meant he was then clear favorite to get to the ball before the GK, so for that. Well played Murph
