Jacob Murphy

Recommended Posts

That level of cross has become expected from Murphy.  It’s crazy. It was absolutely perfect and should not be overlooked.

A lot of other players were in better positions and couldn’t find the pass. Murphy 1-2 whipppppp.  For a team that lacks class - Murphy’s crossing is CLASS. Under rated legend for me.

Jacob Murphy on captaining the side against Chelsea:

“I had a huge grin on my face this morning when the gaffer told me, I had a bit of banter with Burny telling him I’m Captain now and he needs to listen. It’s a lovely moment and what a journey it’s been, I lead the men out to war”

100% W record.

With his contract up in 2027, the same as Willock, should we be open to offers for him? They're probably both a similar value as Murphy has a bit of output compared to Willock, but at 31 he might want a better contract offer than what we would look to do for him.

If he was to go, we would need to replace him as can't be relying on Elanga and you'd think the leadership group would be severly dented with Trippier and Schar likely departing.

I can’t see the current management doing it as he’s the definition of a good pro but I’d be tempted too albeit with a heavy heart. Albeit this is largely based on the possibly baseless surely Elanga has to improve next season. Would like a leftie option off the right too.

Would be low on the list I’d want to peddle as I don’t think it’d exceed Longstaff fee levels and replacement would cost >>>

He’s captain because he’s in the leadership group. It’s little more than a ceremonial role anyway. Absolutely not one to care about.

How he got 95 mins today is beyond me. Absolutely horrific.

He's been a poor footballer for a long time but it gets overlooked because he can wing in a decent cross when he's given enough space.

Poor today but don't think Elanga would've been any different.

How do you know that you got a crystal ball lad? 😂
