NUFC knew about the release clause so they'll have known the figures involved to make a profit/break even before he even joined. Tbh though, for me it's not a good sign when a player keeps moving until they have a starting place rather than fight for it, there's every chance he'd have been a starter this year purely because there's no way Diame will maintain that level for another full season.
