It is plausible that they knew about it, but were told not to report it until now. Also with the Mirror being from the same company, obviously they'd have known about it Probably told by head office to not report it and allow the Mirror to take the credit for breaking it. Not so sure, the Mirror often say the Chronicle are wrong, a bit like the Journal saying transfer things related for the Chronicle to say it was wrong a few hours later. Chuck in Shelvey's creative forward passing, Das Bost (ahem; ok Gayle) and the speed of Aarons/Atsu and Murphy/or Ritchie's forward play and that looks like a decent Premier League side; given a fair wind and a bit of luck re form/injuries. Haven't forgotten we'll need a keeper btw! I doubt Rafa would play two attacking fullbacks at the same time unless he switched to a 3 at the back which seems unlikely.
