It's a depth signing. Dalot is the starting right back. Think that's a good window personally. Not amazing, but good.

Four of the five signings are depth signings aren't they? I know you had a couple injuries last year, but it's strange you're not actually signing anyone to improve your first 11, other than De Ligt.

It's just a depth signing to see us through the season until Casemiro goes next summer. Then we'll have the budget for a top DM hopefully.

That being said, De Ligt and Mazroaui still look very likely.

Is Yoro, Zirkzee, De Ligt, Mazraoui and Berge not a decent window?

The Berge signing is actually real?!

Fofana at Monaco and Kone at Gladbach are available for pretty low fees this summer, as they are in their final years now.

I'd take a punt on either of those ahead of Berge.

Very surprising move by Man Utd. Not sure about your window at all.

Athletico involved in some VERY dodgy accounting deals this window.

selling a backup striker for massive profit is prime City. They’ll replace him for £15m with a player from another club they own

Yoro hurt for like 3 months no?

Don't think they will be quite as poor as last season (performances wise) unless injuries strike again. Rashford might decide to turn into a player again plus they have added some depth. But I don't see them challenging top 4 and I think Ten Hag will probably leave at the first signs of thr wheels coming off.

Just so annoying that even when they play mostly shite they scote their way to cup wins. Twice in a row it has come at our expense unfortunately. Missing out on the league cup before and then last season missing our on Europe.

Would love to finish above them again this year but above all else I want us to get that elusive silverwear.

I rate Alvarez pretty highly. Worse players have gone for more money than him, I can think of one that’s still at Man City. Also although he’s seen as a backup, he started 31 league games for them last year, I think unlike Jesus he’ll be a big miss.

Do Man Utd even finish in the top half this season?

8/1 to finish in the bottom half, I think Ten Hag would go long before Man U were anywhere near the bottom half, however if Southgate is his replacement it might be a canny bet

No way. At worst it'll be like last season where they play like dog water but still accumulates enough undeserved 1 goal margin wins and some draws where they'll never be truly out of reach of European places.

I wish people would stop taking the piss out of man u tbh

2 cups in 2 years. Id give almost anything for that to be us. They'll probably finish above us this year now

Where’s this bottom half crack coming from? With the likes of Garnacho, Mainoo, Fernandes and Martinez alone they’ve got the hallmarks of a top 6 side. Throw in Shaw, Onana, Malacia, Hoijland and the new signings and they’ll be well stocked and have depth to manage Europa and the PL.

Because people are so bitter it makes them say extremely stupid things.

A lot of data around them last year pointed to a bottom half finish (including the dreaded eye test plenty of the time). Yes they got the points and yes they have won 2 cups but it’s not a hilarious fantasy that they could finish 11th.

Unfortunately I think they’re likely to be in and around the European places again.

I got stick on here for saying they are a good team. Let’s face it our good results against them aside the two games against them when we really needed a result we lost to them both times. I appreciate they’ve a bigger squad but their injuries last season were probably only second to ours.

Not convinced on their transfer window so far for the money spent but still 4 weeks to go.

It's context, though. They're the biggest club in the country on paper and have spent more than pretty much everyone. 8th was a joke last season. Their FA Cup win was the equivalent of Wigan winning it and going down, you get freak games.

I hate them as much as anyone but a bad season for Man United is finishing 8th and winning a cup , that's literally as bad as it gets for them, they have more money , wage budget , pull etc than anyone in the country barring Man City really.

Aye that's more of my point though. They have been a laughing stock by their standards last couple of seasons yet they've still won 2 cups. They won't be as bad again this season. They will be challenging top 4 I reckon. Can see Liverpool struggling this season more than man u

They won't finish near the bottom half but I doubt they have anything to have Man City, Liverpool or Arsenal quaking in their boots.

Probably be a shootout between Villa, them & us for the final Champions League spot. We'll know within a few weeks if they've improved or not, as they've largely been awful for 2 years whenever I've watched them, save for the odd decent performance. Every time the pressure seems to be ramping up they seem to go on a decent run.

Fair play for sticking with Ten Hag too. As others have said, 2 trophies in 2 years is a very decent return. I remember there was plenty talk about Arteta getting the chop, Arsenal stuck with him and are reaping the rewards now, albeit after spending an absolute bomb & also being trophyless save for his early FA Cup win.

I can’t. Liverpool have a proper manager.
