Astroblack Posted Monday at 20:57 Share Posted Monday at 20:57 Pretty smart from Dortmund. Just has to have a couple decent seasons there and they'll double their money off of West Ham or Spurs in a couple years.

He would drain a huge amount of money in transfer fee and wages (without this made up CL/no CL clause) from them while being unsuitable for Amorims system. Erikse Posted Monday at 21:17 Share Posted Monday at 21:17 (edited) Man Utd spending 120m + huge wages right off the bat with no Europe money, nothing to see here. Why did I believe that they would only be allowed to spend about the same as us? Edited Monday at 22:15 by Erikse

toon25 Posted Monday at 21:23 Share Posted Monday at 21:23 Let Chelsea carry on, like. You’re right but it’s absolutely galling watching them cherry pick some elite talent without a care in the world whilst openly cooking the books as an established “top 6” team. Fuck modern football. Sima Posted yesterday at 03:42 Share Posted yesterday at 03:42 Just shows that the “top six” are swimming in so much money that they can bankroll £50m+ transfer after £50m+ transfer with barely a bump in the road. Ultimately, they’ll stumble upon some good results. Whereas if we had a dud we’d paid £60m for it would set us back three seasons. We had to sell two of our most promising youngsters to stick to these shite rules. It doesn’t bear thinking about what Man Utd would have spent if they had qualified for the Champions League twice in the last three years.

We've sold loads of promising youngsters or academy products over the last two seasons mate. McTominay, Elanga, Carreras, Greenwood, Henderson, Kambwala, Pellistri, Mejbri, Kovar, Garner etc. (around £130-140m worth, likely more than what Newcastle have sold of their youth products in the same period?). Garnacho and Rashford almost certain to go this summer as well while Mainoo is a possibility. That's not including sales with other players like Sancho/Antony etc. Please stop acting like these rules don't apply to us, especially since the only player we've signed so far is Cunha which will be £24m a year on the books. Palace could afford £24m a year on the books never mind Man United.

I think people get annoyed that the relentless financial mismanagement of your club, years of dire signings on galactic wages and holding ludicrous levels of debt has no real world consequences beyond arbitrary firing of low paid workers. The rules apply to you, of course, but have been a”greed” so the wannabe ESL clubs can batter and bully the other 14 clubs, and most of Europe, into submission with their baked in financial muscle. Anyone trying to force their way in like ourselves or Villa has to be 100% every time on and off the pitch, whereas the ESL clubs can be complete failures on it and still win off it. Sky Sports are absolutely loving this. It’s a wet dream for them as their favourite clubs (don’t even try to deny it Froggy with some piss poor logic) go gangbusters in the market, getting their shorts, videos and social media content ticking up. It’s no fun for them when we win.

We're one of the biggest clubs in the world, and we already need to sell to satisfy PSR because we're signing a player from Wolves and a player from Brentford. We're likely going to sell one of most promising youngsters this summer and potentially even our best player and captain, but people are still acting like we can spend freely. I'm not acting like the rules don't apply to you, more that they are near-infinitely less impactful than they are to you and clubs that have already entrenched themselves at the top of a tree by their own design. Us, Aston Villa, Everton, Nottiingham Forest and any other potential usurper has to be near-perfect in their recruitment, their salary structure and performance of the team as a result to come anywhere near breaking the stranglehold created. And if we do get our recruitment right, an army of media shills are waiting in the wings to link our best players away at every turn to the beloved six in an attempt to unsettle them and ultimately tempt them to leave. Again making us have to go back to our near-perfect recruitment strategy again in an attempt to catch up to teams who have taken those players away. Since PIF took over you can count the number of duds we have signed for £10m+ on less than Dan Burn's right hand, whereas let's put Man Utd and Chelsea's transfers up in the same period for comparison. The list of failures would be legion. Edited yesterday at 07:53 by Sima
