Other clubs' transfers

Out of interest which players that have signed for Prem clubs this summer would people have liked here? Excluding those that chose Liverpool/City/Chelsea over us

Cunha feels an obvious one - Mbeumo if we didn't get or instead of Elanga. Can't think of many other obvious ones?

I don’t think there’s a lack of pull, just an inability to pay the fees and salaries being demanded. If we could up the budget then signings and keeping players would easy.

City have spent more than that surely? They also invested heavily in Jan

I think Raindeers (can't be arsed to look it up) and Cherkie were only about 87m combined.

Based on no knowledge whatsoever, surely most of these clubs are at or close to their (comparatively lofty) PSR limits, with the possible exception of Spurs? I know there's been reporting that Man United is basically done and that Liverpool needs to sell before they can buy Isak.

A bit of a pipe dream, but perhaps we'll see some progress now that we've entered the stretch of the window where the top six have had their pick of players and can't extend themselves to casually hijack whoever we want.

Man City will likely end up selling McAtee and O’Reilly this summer (possibly Bobb too) and they’ll be back in healthy PSR as they can book all that value.

Liverpool similar with Quansah, Kelleher, Doak, Elliot and if needs be next summer Jones/Bradley. Again all straight booked profit.

These clubs will be running out of players soon where they can do this, but at that point I wouldn’t be shocked if they work on changing the rules at that point. They would’ve assembled strong expensive squads, so need a new way to keep those squads. So increasing PSR threshold would be one after they’ve increased their gap over others.

The three teams that have challenged those Top 6 in the last few years.

Us, with all our problems.

Notts Forest at £10m.

Villa aren't even on the list.

PSR doing its job.

Weren't you in for Trafford at £27m and Ekitike at £80m though? Would have taken your spending to £162m and third on the list.

Moyes building them back up again. They won’t be anywhere near as inept without points deductions and with a new stadium.

They will be pushing top half IMO. No reason they can’t have a season like Fulham just had.
