Rafa Benítez (now unemployed)

Recommended Posts

The board are desperate for him to stay because they know what they've got - a £5m manager keeping this squad up, vs McClaren relegating expensive signings. Much cheaper this way, with the benefit of mid-table finishes.

They'll say just enough to get his signature.

Whatever may be the case, just hope Rafa does sign on and get something to get this club progressing. Sport/Life is much more fun just watching football and not caring about the off the pitch crap

We've said it for 12 years but all it would take for Ashley to get left alone would be to give Rafa what he needs and stop meddling, just disappear into the background and let the club be run by people who know what they're doing. He could have his tatty advertising, his sponsorships and deals, so long as Rafa has the tools to compete. It'll never happen, but it would be so easy!

True, snag being if Rafa signs and the club still can't progress because he never gets the resources he needs.

He will be seen to being over demanding after his quotes after the match, but he is right we need to spend big in the summer on our attack. Only the teams currently in the relegation zone have scored less goals than us this season.

In Almiron’s first 4 starts we had 78 shots in 4 games the most in that period of any Premier League side even more than Man City.

How can they can make out he is being restricted when we’ve scored 2+ goals in our last 5 home games in a row and scored 2+ goals in 4 of our last 6 matches. Almiron has really been restricted by negative Rafa Benítez though :'(

Last night the bottom half sides all had 0 shots on target by 73 minutes away to the Top 6.

But again this week only Rafa Benítez and Newcastle United have been talked about by the likes of Talksport and Skysports as having low shot stats when playing away to the Big 6.

Will they now do a show on how Zaha was restricted by Hodgson’s tactics away to the Top 6 last night?

Or how Brighton’s £20million signing Jahanbakhsh was restricted by Chris Hughton tactics away to the Top 6 last night?

Rafa Benítez must just laugh when the media make out that only he has low possession and shots away to the Big 6.

Do Talksport and Skysports honestly think most bottom half sides go toe to toe with the Big 6 away I mean it’s laughable.

The worrying thing is even some of our fans start to believe it
