I'm sorry but Richard Keys insulting Rafa is like a length of dog shit telling a Mars bar it doesn't taste nice.

As if this bellend is talking about honour FfS! Absolute wanker!

Getting a lecture on being honourable from a man who shagged his daughters best mate while his wife had cancer iss right up there with the best advice ever

TUPE wouldn't apply. Still be employed by the same company- just a different owner but no transfer for individual employees. PL takeover rules may have something in them though.

Man, so this may be some sort of ruse to let Rafa's contract run down?

Will they then suddenly fail to produce the funds once Rafa leaves?

I'm suspicious.

Man, people give Ashley, Bishop et al far too much credit.

There's the distinct possibility that this Shiekh isn't all he's cracked himself up to be and/or that Ashley's using genuine interest to distract from Benitez's contract talks.

But there's absolutely no way this is all a ruse engineered by him.

Correct.

If Ashley want's to run down Rafa's contract he does just that and just ignores him (like he did with Shearer).

Hardly implausible. Make use of the genuine interest by leading the Sheikh on just long enough to bin Rafa, then come out with some "the Sheikh's a timewaster" claptrap in early July. It's literally exactly what they did to get out of spending money in January '18.

That only applys if THEY KNOW employment is changing to a different company. If the talks are still ongoing then surely they can still give him a new contract?
