Haven't been taking too much notice of where we are with the takeover as it seems to a long drawn out process, but unless it's about to go through then it's not necessarily great timing. If we take another 6 months to get this deal done, then he'll probably end up somewhere else. Also don't see why we would be bringing Jones onto the coaching staff if we had sounded out Rafa. Not sure it all adds up.

Anyone thinking positive thoughts might want to ask themselves the last time something nice happened was like [emoji38]

Yeah, careful guys, don't ever let a smile appear on your face or a positive thought flash through your mind. Idiots

Yeah, this but not sarcastically.

Remember the time when people were dismissing and laughing at the idea of Rafa managing a relegation-threatened team under a s*** owner? Which club was that? Ooo yes. It was Newcastle United.

Never say never.

Well obviously he's not returning under Ashley, we know that.

But the takeover seemingly has momentum. When it happens, easy peasy.

Or is everyone convinced it's all over because there's been no update in the last 48 hours

If Bruce was about to crack before, then this is going to send him over the edge. Rafa waiting in the wings. Wonder if his Rafa-centric weird interviews this week we're down to him having some idea Rafa is back on the scene?

The timing is purely coincidental but we can keep everything crossed the takeover goes through and he stays available long enough. No guarentee Benitez is who the owners would want.

Just agonizing coincidence imo. I like the potenital pressure angle for Bruce with Rafa lurking though.
