Dr Jinx
Yep be nice to get some Rafa chants going but not at the expense of our current manager. Instead of the La Bamba chant, maybe the 2 Unlimited one would keep everyone happy ☺️

Goes back to the early Premier League years. Completely got on their nerves that after they were one of the big 5 in the 80s, we rocked up and took their place near the top of the table while they started to struggle. The Bonk
I don’t hate them, but I find the “Scouse Mackem” moniker equally fitting and hilarious. The weird thing is, they can be class when they want to, dealt with Arsenal quite easily, but none of the players gave two shits about playing for Rafa. HaydnNUFC
Personally have complete indifference towards Everton. Know a couple irl, good lads. This bizarre Newcastle-Everton hatred seems to be an online thing, never met an Evertonian who hates us like those on Twitter or GOT or vice versa for us tbh. The banner thing, I'm not going to be one telling fans of other clubs what they should or shouldn't expect. We had it for over a decade with Ashley and Pardew, Bruce, et al. That 'fans demand the best' banner, isn't that to do with their motto? Nil stasis nisi optimum translates to more or less 'nothing but the best' doesn't it? Isn't that banner a play on that? They also, like us, saw right through and despised Allardyce whilst the media constantly shouted them and us down. While the mackems adore(d) him. While it would be funny if they went down as a club their size shouldn't be in the Championship I won't be outwardly celebrating like, be too busy celebrating our own survival should we achieve it. LiquidAK
Love this man. Gutted he never got the chance to progress us under proper owners - worked out well for us as we've landed on our feet with Howe (and then some) - shame we couldn't somehow have had both. It's more a compliment to Everton than criticism of their opponents imo. Their fans should take a lot of credit if they stay up, for cheering their team on and making Goodison a nasty place to play for visiting teams. HaydnNUFC
Generally resent telling a club's fans that someone they dislike is actually brilliant. We've had it for years with Bruce, Pardew, Allardyce. Everton fans know their club far more than any of us and too many say he did a shit job for him not to have done.

Obviously they were in a better position when he was binned than they are now but they were clearly on a downward trajectory - they'd lost 9 of 13. They got 4 wins in August & September then only won one more until he was binned in January. Would he have turned it round? Maybe, maybe not. But I can at least understand why he got the boot. St. Maximin
I don’t see much evidence they’d be in a much better position, if at all, if he’d stayed. They were on the decline for weeks before his sacking, so it’s not like Lampard has made them any worse really. The guy is a legend but it won’t work out everywhere for him and it’s fair to say he made mistakes there if the people that follow the club think so. Surely Lampard was faced with a pretty uphill task anyway given the sorry state of the team when he took over, as opposed to Rafa at the season start, so Rafa has to take blame for that even if the club’s issues do run much deeper. The Prophet
As it stands, Lampard and Benitez have the same PPG at Everton. Benitez was a disaster there, but to say Lampard has worked some kind of miracle is lazy. That'll be the narrative though.
The Prophet
Unless Everton are smart with their transfer window, they'll be in trouble again next season. They’re probably best off flogging DCL for big money and offloading some of the wasters to free up the wage bill. Even then they'll need to invest wisely. Conjo
The tweet above says Everton are now competing & have a chance. Hardly describing it as a miracle.
