Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Probably been posted but I only just saw it

There would, I understand, be compromises on both sides: some money to be released for transfers next month, even if a deal not finalised, and the continuation of Sports Direct ads for a limited period.

Wonder how many years the "limited period" is

As someone mentioned, wages have been holding us back for 10 years. Agents don't go near clubs who have a reputation for being tight cunts.

Hopefully, Ashley won't care about paying too much on wages for new players as it's going to be someone else's problem.

Steve Wraith claiming to be in the know again on twitter and saying the takeover is as far away from happening as it has ever been.

How the fuck does he know man, and before anyone replys with he has regular meetings with Rafa, why the fuck would Rafa have regular meetings with him. Do you think he wants to know about the time be was best mates with the Krays.

I tell you why he is saying that he is trying to get people to retweet him so he can sell all of the tat he advertises on his twitter.

Just had a quick scan through Wraiths twitter. Eventually found the posts in question, after trawling through all the concert and event promotion tweets.

Its all just 'his opinion', but he seems to be doubting the story broke by a number of journalist yesterday. Maybe he's got the hump because Amanda never called him back after he gave her his card when he was sat near her at the Liverpool match. She probably blocked him on FB, Twitter, etc too.

Clearly doesn't like the fact he hasn't been able to break a story, and now wants to be a contrary ITK, so if it all falls down ,he can say 'told you so'.

I am probably being a bit thick here but if Amanda Staveley has to repay the £30m supposedly allocated to transfers, does that mean we don't have any money at all?  If it is coming out of the clubs's accounts, why would it have to be repaid or is Ashley having to loan the money to us?  And if Ashley is still in control, will he concede on the add-ons and wages or will we lose players because of an odd million or so on top of the fees as we seem to do with most of our targets.

We are probably better off with the loan market because January is not the time to restructure a squad unless the players you actually want are available otherwise you might end up with players not really wanted 6 months later.

I would hope that the only involvement ashley will have on any transfers in January is stumping up the wallpaper cash knowing that it will be repaid once the takeover is complete.  If he is indeed just putting the money in for transfers, he should have fuck all to do with the ins and outs of wages offered etc.

Cash flow, the club isn't likely to currently have £30m in the bank.  Normally a club would either loan the money until their next source of revenue comes in, or pay in installments like most clubs in this league so that only a fraction of the £30m is needed right away.

Micky Quinn on Talksport saying it's Staveley buying us solely and also it was stated that Ashley is busy with SD stuff at present so no news today.

I hope not, while she'd make for a glamorous owner, I doubt she's got the sort of money it would take to take us up a level in a hurry. Sounds like bollocks anyway.
