Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

I would love to do a Man City and have sustained success until I die. Fuck being sensible

That's fine, but don't complain when it doesn't happen.

Not looking forward to those doing so btw. There will be loads.

Everybody on Chopper watch

Might want to rephrase that.

Fear not, I understand that Quakes is taking one for the team and has put himself on chopper watch 24/7.

That's me on autopilot.

If you're in Grindr out of choice, all good. If you're there out of duty: chopper-watch/possible announcement forum (ahem), then all good. If the latter, and you find yourself wishing to participate, then all good. After all, even Caulkin has caught on to the potential significance of the 'place'; I shit you not: " This is the grind of the transfer window and Newcastle United are grinding through it like everybody else, except in one significant regard." Who knew? (the source of his 'sauce'?)

Just like the end result of Grindr, someone's gotta be bottom. In this case, it's the supporters.

I think the model they are referring to is more Tottenham than anything else,

Fucking bring it!!!

Tottenham with their mental season ticket prices and bigger branding.

All we will have is player trading. Get players to play well and sell them on. Nothing different to what Ashley had been trying to do for a decade.

We won’t try and build something like a successful football team, just a profitable one.

Sorry, I should have realised that you know everything about everything and can see into the future.

Your boring and uneducated posts are getting a bit tedious now, you don’t know any of that for certain but bang on like you have a clue.

My uneducated guess will be closer to the truth than you care to admit. It’s why you are spitting the dummy, deep down you know I’ll be right. Unfortunately.

But please, continue to act like a twat when an opinion doesn’t match up to your own.

You're throwing around guesses based on fuck all and stating them as fact, you deserve any shit you get to be honest.

There hasn’t been any facts in here for a long time. Not even those presented by journalists....it’s all been guess work due to radio silence. You can have your take on it and what has happened, I’ll have mine.

Ps: I’m not the one jumping up and down saying anyone is wrong. Each to their own. Also do I have to put a disclaimer of in my opinion in every post to appease the snowflakes who refuse to question the sad state of affairs we find ourselves in?

I just want ambition. Is that too much to ask?

Im sure the majority agree. Once upon a time we used to be ahead of most sides in attracting players, offering competitive salaries.

Not searching France for bargains. It feels like we have fallen behind almost the whole league in terms of recruitment. The same goes for academy players, our most recent being Carroll ages back and then more recent losing our most promising youth to Everton, if they wanted him he must be good as Everton are very good at producing their own usually.

Its just fallen so short of our expectations as paying loyal fans that never let the team down and turn out home and away without fail but just dont get rewarded with ambition as you say.

It has to change soon enough, because the further behind we fall, it will just continue to get harder each season to compete and keep up with sides that want to evolve and do show ambition.

I'd love it if we did a Man City, don't understand why some don't. The morals behind some of the sources of wealth over in the Middle East perhaps?

Though I'd take just competent business people who may not be the richest but allow the club to at least try and maximise its potential. However the main thing is getting that fat f***ing c*** out of our club.

It's about maintaining your identity. Man City certainly haven't kept theirs.

They didn't have much of one pre Mansour.

I'm incredibly biased, but I think we're different in that regard.

I'd say we're at lot like city of old. They were perennial under achievers, spectacularly mismanaged. They had an outstanding side 30 years before the takeover, remembered fondly cause it's all they had to cling on to. Oh and they were pulling in crowds of 30,000 when they were in the 3rd tier of English football. Twenty years ago there was maybe 2 or 3 clubs in England that could have done that.

Thought more recent times around about our KK and SBR days. We've a history of being consistently in the top 6 in recent years. Renowned for our ground, passionate support and attacking football.

Again I'm looking through the black and white specs.

Skimmed to catch up since servergeddon but what I've taken from all the Caulkin stuff etc. is that the deal might still happen.

It will happen, but possibly not in time for the January window

Was the City takeover not late, with Robinho signing on deadline day? There's hope

Wasn't that a different takeover?

It wasn’t complete but they were loaned money by the buyers to buy Robinho
