That chap seems to enjoy writing articles attempting to debunk various claims made about Staveley in the media. Doesn't change much.

Big Geordie
Has Ashley played us all again? Beginning to look like it. :-( Mind, am not sure Conn is a reliable source. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Isn't it true though that when someone has wanted to buy a club in the past it tends to get done quickly?
Guest chopey
I honestly don't think Ashley is playing a game here just to mess with us, he just has no interest in us anymore, its costing him nowt so he's in no rush to sell until his asking price is met, when it is he'll be off. Guest NobbyOhNobby
David Conn generally writes reliable and revealing investigative articles. It's a worry that he's actively picking holes in staveley's credibility
Hughesy
Yeah, Conn's pretty well known for exactly this kind of stuff. He's pretty reliable.
Guest firetotheworks
So her credibility is viewed as questionable. Nothing new.

Cronky
The main point is that Staveley does not head a consortium, and isn't a fund manager. She's a broker who puts together deals for other investors. As such, her ability to put together and sustain a big financial offer is bound to be questionable. Shelveys Hair
I think PCP would look to grow the club with a view to selling it on later at a profit. Been having a good read on Stavely though and you do have to question her a bit and whether she is/was serious.
TK-421
George Caulkin has said on twitter (after Conn's previous article) that he is credible. However, its strange that this journalist seems intent on exposing Staveley as some sort of charlatan, whereas no-one ever goes into such depth to expose and put pressure on Ashley for his running of the club. geordie jamie
• New PCP bid for #NUFC likely once Premier League TV rights settled this week+ (more crucially) when/if (?) PL future secure • Benitez future in summer dependent on new bid succeeding http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-5376863/Rafa-Benitezs-Newcastle-future-depend-takeover-bid.html
Varadi
No real surprises there - he's seen Ashley for what he is now, there's no chance of him staying on under him.

Precisely. They don't seem to realise WHY we're so desperate to believe that she's the real deal.
Guest firetotheworks
Would that be news? I know people are uninformed, but there have been plenty of articles about Ashley's mismanagement. It's only this article and Luke Edwards who've put out articles about Staveley perhaps not being what she seems.
Guest NobbyOhNobby
The main problem I have with Conn's article is that its headline is rather condescending which automatically puts me on the defensive.
Ikon
Yawn... Done with getting my hopes up after last time. I wont give a shit anymore until there's anything official, which is never during my lifetime.
Minhosa
I can’t see too much wrong with the Conn article tbh. Healthy scepticism from me but still ABA.
Big Geordie
Conn’s piece getting some support on FB toon groups. I guess we are going to have to wait and see what happens. It does remind me that good things don’t seem to happen to NUFC any more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LoveItIfWeBeatU
The main problem I have with Conn's article is that its headline is rather condescending which automatically puts me on the defensive. To be fair, the journalist rarely writes the headline. That's the editor's job and headlines often sensationalise the actual story.
James
I thought it had already been established that Staveley and PCP are ultimately a consortium of 6 or 7 parties putting in £25m-100m? Staveley’s role will be to manage the funds, grow the club and give the investors their profit returns, taking her own cut.
Guest neesy111
Not sure I’d be happy with 6 or 7 individuals trying to come to agreements on the future of the club. That many fingers in the pie is just looking for trouble. Hence why you have an CEO to do that stuff for them.
