Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester

In all fairness, it can't give Ashley much confidence to actually make an investment into the club seeing how current funds are being frittered away.

Ashley's not the one there making the deals, but he's going to see how far that money is getting him. Not very far at all at the moment. A lot of energy, money and time has been spent over the last couple of windows by shifting out players that serve no value to the playing squad, despite only being here a matter of months.

Whatever money was wasted through the Slimani deal, we're never going to see a return. It's an instant right off on a couple/few million on a player that was injured to start with, and could have only played a max of 10 games.

Whoever is in charge of transfer deals needs the sacking. In January we've instantly wrote off millions in short term thinking by signing loan players that have no commitment of value to us come the end of the season.

Disagree entirely with the top part. Ashley refusing to back his man and making him sign his 4th/5th and not even on the list targets is the reason for our predicament and funds being 'frittered away'.

Also the money that was 'frittered away' - with the exception of Sels and Lazaar (maybe argue Hanley, but we made our money back), all those players played a role last season in making sure we had a squad large and strong enough to go straight back up, which we did. While Ashley invested not a single penny as he took out from the Wijnaldum/Sissoko deals, as well as the parachute payment money.

Hasn't it been mentioned that Sels was a Carr pick? And Lazaar in no way seemed like a Rafa type of player either.

no one really know tbh, we are just guessing, Rafa has made some crappy signings and some canny ones, whoever has made them the aim is to stay up, have the inquest, fk ashley off and start again.  O0

Heard a rumour from a lad who works at the training ground that Rafa has become a strong Islamophobe to appease the dissenters and patriots within the support but is trying to keep it on the downlow. Slimani isn't injured; it's just a cover we're paying him for.

Aye, because Saivet, Doumbia, Lazaar, Hanley, Gamez, Sels we're all great uses of funds. Not to mention the s**** that was peddled through here before. We may not spend big on players and signings, meaning our transfer failures aren't so costly as other clubs around, but we've wasted a fair share of budget on crap that's taken the side nowhere.

We're currently footing the bill for to some extent or another for at least four senior goalkeepers ffs, likely still paying a cut on Sels loan, and wouldn't surprise me that Krul's contract at Brighton is being subsidised to a small extent. So potentially 6, near certain 5  :idiot2:

Jury has to be out on the three loaned in on January, but on the face of it we've instantly written off fair few million on three players for less than half a seasons work.

Clearly I'm going to get canned for stepping off the party line re: Ashley, but he can't be blamed for Charnley or whoever being f***ing inept at getting deals, and right players through the door. Guess him being in a job is down to Ashley, but whilst he's being dealt a bad hand to start with, him or whoever is running the club day-to-day doesn't need to start tearing the cards up into tiny pieces before playing.

I don't see a problem - all signings are a bit of a punt.

Saivet: Not a Rafa signing

Doumbia: Not a Rafa signing

Hanley: Proven Champ defender. Did his bit, cost us £2m (Less than many loan fees)

Gamez: Squad player - you're allowed those

Lazaar: Hasn't worked out - have to see what fee we might get for him

Sels: Hasn't worked out - Anderlecht keen to sign him

I'd expect our Keepers next year to be Dubravka and Woodman with the other two moved out.

Ashley wants run his businesses one way, surrounded by often under qualified yes men and at the absolute bottom line. It doesn't work in football and it never will. He refuses to acknowledge that. Any 'investment' is always frittered away on this basis. I suppose like many an egotist, failings are never his own.

What an absolute rectangle.

I reckon Rafa should just play one brilliant player against the opposition's 11.

As to Ashley not being blamed for Charnley, that one beggars belief. He appointed Charnley despite the bloke being cheap as shit because he has no relevant skills or experience. Jesus man.

Basically we should just bin Rafa then. If it is fair that he isn't allowed to buy players of a higher value until he can prove to Ashley that the players of lower value he allows Rafa to purchase is as good as the ones that are valued higher, then why even bother spending more if we get the same for less?
