If anyone was in any doubt about the chasm that's opened up  between us and them, forget the 2 leagues difference, forget the fact we almost treble their crowds, forget that we'll quadruple their turnover and take a look at who will likely be leading each team out in August.

We'll have Rafael Benitez, ex Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Napoli, Real Madrid manager.

They'll have Jack Ross. Nobody had heard of him until today.

And yet...

CURRENTLY THE MANAGER OF SUNDERLAND AFC...

There's some sad sack that is so keen to have a no-mark as manager they've rushed to edit the Wikipedia!

Pahaha, that's amazing if they've not even gone through the correct channels to contact him.

That said, his record is about as good as they could hope to attract in a manager, so they have reason to be optimistic about his appointment.

Record against footballing powerhouses Brechin, Morton and queen of the south

TBH he's exactly the appointment they need to make and a departure from the ones that got them into this mess. Young up and coming, with an excellent lower level track record, not a big name but someone who has the potential to grow and is accustomed to working with little to no money. Hope this is BS and they go down the route of re-appointing Coleman, that would be hilarious.

Had a liking for St Mirren since the 80's and get to half a dozen games a season when they don't clash with toon games. Will be massively disappointed if this happens. Looked certs for relegation to the Scottish 3rd tier when he took over. They had a single figure points tally by the new year but recovered to survive on GD on the last day of the season. Won the league by 12 points last season, playing good football. Brought a good few young'uns through, one being Lewis Morgan who signed for Celtic in Jan but stayed on loan for the rest of the season. With that in mind he's probably a good fit for the mackems. Used to a small budget too. Done a great job but sincerely hope it all goes tits up and he realises the grass isn't always greener.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't him now that the majority on RTG have contorted themselves into believing he's brilliant and just what they need.

I’m sure Donald would have told Micky Gray off air. It’s obvious these chancers have tapped Jack Ross up. Hope st Mirren complain and Sunderland lose 3/4 of their transfer budget in a fine

“Hi, St Mirren fan in peace here… I think Jack will do excellent for you, he’s young, plays exciting football and is very ambitious. Here in (checks wikipedia) Paisley we’ve always had a soft spot for SAFC and yet harboured nothing but hatred for your arrogant neighbours who think they should be in the champion’s league and smell of gravy. Gutted he’s is leaving St Johnstone but don’t worry Jacky boy will get us up in no time.”

Fucking state of that tweet.

Random capital letters where they're not needed, but not used when they are needed. Repeated misuse of apostrophes and multiple exclamation marks all over the place. The man's borderline illiterate.

Apparently we're all "rattled" by their takeover. They seem very confident everything is going to work out fine. Clear out all the squad players they don't want, get new players and manager, win promotion to the Championship, rebuild squad for a promotion push to the Premiership, etc. I'm sure that will be a silky smooth ride.
