There is some other reason they're so strongly against him than "that" right?

...right?

Nah. He's previously claimed to have been the victim of racist abuse at Roker Park - but such a game on the date/year he alleged never took place. Their fans (arguably rightly) believe he's fabricated something for his own benefit, presumably choosing a northern club to portray a stereotype.

Unfortunately he's played the race card everywhere he's been since retirement. His not being a very good manager never seems to enter his mind.

Fair enough in that case.

Cheers

Hasn’t he actually done quite well at the couple jobs he’s had?

I’d imagine if someone or their family is racially abused by a set of fans you react like Darren bent and get one over on them whenever you can. Do you really put yourself forward for an interview as their manager?

So it’s either bollocks, he was talking bollocks (About the abuse), the Rooney rule is bollocks forcing someone to apply for a job somewhere they were racially abused, or soL is one long game mother fucker and is planning to rinse them of as much money as possible and leave them ruined , crying in league 2.

Looks like Sunderland are going to be stuck in mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

CLUBS in League One and League Two have been BANNED from paying transfer fees in January under the terms of their £250million bailout from the Premier League.

Top-flight officials have been locked in talks with the EFL for weeks in a bid to negotiate a bailout.

Not well enough to attract attention. Even Paul ince did well enough down lower leagues to land the Blackburn job
