I thought his ankle got caught between DCL's legs. So either ankle or ACL.

oldtype
Thinking "oh no what are we going to do with our four starting-quality CBs" seems like such a long time ago. Schar has been a fantastic servant to the club and I really hope this isn't the end. There will always be a special place in our hearts for players who lived through the Ashley era and managed to be a part of what's next. NUFC91
Will die on the hill that he's been our best centre half over last 20 years... What a servant the blokes been, hope he recovers well.
LiquidAK
If I read a single misery-nonce chime in with "no room for sentimentality in football", "an elite team would let the contract expire and move on" or anything similar from the rent-a-hard-man book of quotes I'll lose it like. Doctor Zaius
His range of passing gives us quite a bit like. The fact he can spray it gives us the option to go long or short in possession. We've looked better since he came back into the team too

Looked like all of the above. Could be anything. Doesn't look or feel good though. Think that's him done.

He could quite conceivably have done his ankle, ACL and broken his leg at once in that fall. Hopefully he does a Livramento and bounces back, but… yeah, not good. Bimpy474
Eddie said he thinks it could be an ankle issue. Praying it's not a break like.
Checko
The moment he went down he was waving for physio. I really hope this isn't the last we see of Fabi. Such a class player.

timeEd32
Very possible that's the last image of Schar in a Newcastle shirt, which is very sad.
Elma
If it's ankle as Eddie says then that could be a blessing. Was sure it was a serious knee injury when he went down. Fingers crossed.

robbo_11
On Fabian Schar's injury: "I don't know too much, I think it's an ankle problem. Fingers crossed, our thoughts are with him. I think he is at the hospital now." Could be similar to Isak injury, might depend if it is a break including fibula or just ankle and ligaments. If it is a break and ankle, depending severity it is 2-4 months. Either way I'd doubt we would see him before end of the season.
TaylorJ_01
Gutted for him, he was fantastic today and having a good season. Could argue he kept us in it with one of his goal-line tackles today.
