SUPERTOON
Should be cut some slack, like the rest of them, he’s ran himself into the ground the last few weeks.
wormy
He's made a good impact being given a break and coming off the bench before regaining his starting spot in the past. I hope there's a chance to do the same if/when some wingers are available. Even if we get a new starter in the summer I don't see him leaving. He could still play a big part as a back up for another couple of years if he's happy to imo. Unless we get too good an offer to turn down for FFP reasons, anyway. I would but he's played like this for the last 3 or 4 years. Don't get me wrong I appreciate his effort, he runs his bollocks off and works hard.......but that's not enough any more. When you're scrambling around trying to get 40 points a season it's admirable, when you're aiming for top 6 then it's just not good enough. His purple patch last October is very much the exception to the rule
RobsonsWonderland
For a bit of balance to the argument... If you were Wilson / isak do you think you would be happy with Miggy on the wing? Would you even bother busting a gut to get in front of your man when you know he will never cross the ball? I was actually keen to see how him and Gordan would get on when they switched wings but it only lasted minutes
80
He's very loveable, and very handy as a player, but it's clear a lot of people will only see what he is - and we are - missing when his top class replacement is finally on the pitch. There are so many opportunities that come to nothing long before it's obvious we had a big chance because he's so far away from being able to do whatever is required e.g. a quick sprint and right footed cutback from the byline. Often these chances disappear because his teammates - accurately - guess there is no point in passing to him in the particular position he's currently occupying, so it isn't obvious when they don't materialise. It's a bit like Pope and Dubravka or Gordon and Saint Maximin. It just makes you go 'oh'.
Stifler
Has now scored the same amount of goals for us as Owen did.
gbandit
Never not going to love this lad. I probably forgive him too much as he’s just such a top lad to have around but he’s honestly one of my favourite players ever for us. I think for pound-to-pound ability + likeability he’s the highest up on my list of people I like, above Jonas in terms of being quite limited but it doesn’t stop me loving the lad Edited December 17, 2023 by gbandit
Ikon
Cannot not love him. Having said that, i wouldn't mind us breaking the bank for someone like Olise next summer. Buy it nice or buy it twice.
HawK
I don't think he' a winger, inverted or otherwise, he's an inside forward who works very hard off the ball. He doesn't provide/create and is a one-dimensional player. As long as he's scoring it's fine, but when he's not, he's not doing his job as an inside-forward and the team doesn't benefit from his presence when we're in possession. With his very high-tempo pressing and work rate, he'd be an amazing impact sub for any team at almost any level I think. He's got 5 goals for us this season, if he can finish with 10 or more I think that's a good return for his position and I don't think we can have any complaints really. If we want 10+ goals and a good amount of assists, you're looking at absolutely elite wide players and they don't come cheap.
gbandit
Olise is class like, really interesting player and clearly a maverick off the pitch too. If his attitude is good, then I’d love him here

He wasn't terrible to me. Can you remember a single decent cross from him on the day? He'll run enough for two men and that's worth a hell of a lot, but his delivery is so poor most of the time. Must be really frustrating for a striker waiting on a decent ball in.

Mattoon
I think him cutting in gives Tripper that extra touch on the outside though, it's hardly surprising he's got so many assists this season.
ExiledGeordie
Great player for the squad but RW needs upgrading if we’re going to progress as a side imo.
magvicar
It's only a matter of time before Miggy takes a bit of a back seat (squad player) but on his day he can produce the good and his work rate and ability to scare defences adds fuel to our game overall but naturally that gets put on the back burner when he fails to deliver the goods from his energetic and speedy runs into great positions. Gallowgate Toon
The main problem with Miggy is that he plays to the pattern almost 100% when on the right, there's practically no deviation from it. Even if there's space for him to attack and he has legs on his opponent, it's still most often the same move which really slows us down. And his lack of right peg too Edited December 18, 2023 by Gallowgate Toon

huss9
had a decent crack at goal with his right foot against fulham. probably because he didnt have much time to think about it.

West Ham signed Bowen a few years back, they've also signed Kudus for £30m who has 9 goals in all comps. Chelsea signed Cole Palmer for £45m odd. Szob was what? £60m he's a step above. Kulu at Spurs. Leeds got Raphinha those years ago. Olise looks a talent. Miggy is limited on the ball, off it both offensively and defensively he's great. He won't be that hard to replace if his replacement is willing to graft. There's a good number of hard-working left footed attackers in the world of football with bags more ability. I would've loved Palmer. We could do with another passer and creator. Miggy has a place in this squad for some time though.
Chris L
Lost track how many times he has lost the ball tonight, or passed it to their players. Really need to upgrade him asap

CallumG6
His complete reliance on his left foot is really irking me. There was an opportunity tonight to use his right foot, can’t remember whether for a shot or cross, and he just did what he normally does, drag back onto his left foot. Upgrade required sooner rather than later in my opinion. Decent squad player going forward if he’s happy with that role. Not to mention that daft shot from a tight angle at the end. WideopenMag
Very likeable and hard working I'd like to keep him as a squad player but the top and bottom of it is he just isn't good enough nor consistent enough. He's a clear weak link now and is costing us.
