Newcastle Fan
His biggest assist this season could be if he leaves for a good fee, no point really in him staying as we simply can't consider him a starting player at his level, his best bet will be to stay and be a sub but why do that when you can earn crazy money in Saudi and start every game. Though I trust the club to improve, its a much taller order than people think. His goal involvements and work rate is tough order to improve on. He's flawed but its a bit like Robert. One foot, lazy but his two footed, hard working replacements neither produced nor threatened to produce a third of what Robert did. Robert’s left peg was a wand, mind. He could use his right too (see the goal vs Arsenal)

HaydnNUFC
I would like him upgraded upon and have done for a while but selling him now assuming that's what we're doing (may not even be true ) doesn't solve any immediate problems imo as we'd need to sign his replacement at RW and the CM we desperately need. In 4 days. Edited January 27, 2024 by HaydnNUFC

Whitley mag
Who would replace Miggy between now and end of the season if we sold him Gibbs White ? Surely that’s folly when all we have left to play for is the FA Cup and he’s cup tied. Miggys not the answer long term but short term we need him surely. McDog
You know it could be a forthcoming sale and illness at the same time. If I was told I was being shipped off to KSA I'd be in the loo barfing all night long.

Nico Williams at Bilbao has a release clause around £50m. We were linked to him by Douglas at the end of the summer window. He's the incredibly ideal replacement imo; age, output, work rate. But whether we'd go for that at this stage in the window...I'm unconvinced. But aye I fully agree. If we were to sell Almirón now we'd need his replacement/upgrade and the CM we really do need. Just can't see us getting both between now and the end of the window. Unless we gamble on getting just 1 of those.
Matt1892
Barnes and Anderson down the left and Gordon and Murphy down the right until the summer.
Yorkie
I think it's incredibly ominous that he wasn't involved at all. He's constantly around the squad and 'illness' is as convenient as it gets when the player's linked with a move away. Wouldn't blame anyone for putting two and two together here, like. Alberto2005
Wouldn't read too much into that, despite Miggy coming across as a quiet lad I've got it on good authority his wife likes role play as Dexter Morgan.

Agreed, Williams looks a big upgrade and exciting player, even if we had funds I’m unconvinced as well, especially in January when Howe seems to value PL experience over everything else. ponsaelius
Athletic are likely to be in the CL next season and their players are usually loyal. He will either stay or go to another big club with CL football.
McCormick
Yeah, he’s gonna be the next big thing. Unlikely he’ll come to us, especially without CL football. Shame really, as we probably could have got him last summer.
