Abacus
Funny how Mike is always surprised by the extent of the problems he inherits when he buys anything. Like when he was shocked we hadn't paid cash up front for all our players (like no club does), and so was sadly was justified in stripping the club down to it's bare bones and run it on a shoestring, like the big saviour he is. It's almost like buying distressed assets for peanuts might mean they have some big underlying problems.
BlueStar
If you've taken over a company Ashley ran for 14 years there must be an absolute treasure trove of dirt and dodgy dealings within the records you've inherited, surprised he's not trying to keep them sweet as possible. Wouldn't take a Leicester reserve on loan unless they paid most of his wages, but would definitely not do due dilligience on the biggest purchases he'd ever make. We're basically Tory FC It doesn’t, funnily enough They genuinely think foodbanks are marvellous because it proves that ‘deserving’ poor will be ok with handouts, rather than actually paying reasonable taxes to ensure foodbanks aren’t necessary. Can’t see past the end of their own nose. John Hall’s donations bought him a knighthood off Thatcher - who he idolised. Despite his being trained by the NCB. The ownership of the club has never been less than loathsome, as far as my reading of history goes …
