If we had a decent manager in charge, I’d probably stupidly overlook what’s happening at ownership level. I know the two go hand in hand where Ashley’s concerned but we’re a half decent manager away from at least being something worth following on the pitch again. I’m not even talking Rafa level, Eddie Howe or some young manager with a good footballing philosophy would do. I know that makes me gullible etc but I’m sick of hating the club. Annoying.

You could employ a young up and coming new thinking kind of modern manager, or you go for a merry go round dinosaur English git.

Hair Island

Pardew

Bruce......

We never ever learn.

Well, we don’t care about success, which is a little bit different.

That is very very true.

One good thing to come out of lockdown is the idea that Newcastle play badly because of crowd pressure has been proven to be bullshit.

Massively agree. He cant hide behind that now

He thought the players had got past Rafa's defensive brainwashing, but clearly they haven't so he'll have to go back to a five man defence next week. :(

The problem is that nobody decent will touch us.  It's Bruce or someone else shit.

Didn't Arteta want it?

I very much doubt it.  He was linked, but I can't remember anything to suggest that he really wanted the job.

I mean, we ended up with Bruce.  That's enough evidence to suggest nobody decent will work for Mike Ashley.

So many teams have managers who instil a clear philosophy of play and approach each game with a forensic plan to ensure they get the most out of their players and nullify what the opposition have to offer.

We have Steve Bruce who plays the most basic of 4-4-2 systems and sends long balls up to a diseased carthorse.

Nobody shows him up better than Potter. Brighton spend less money and have had their manager in place for the exact same amount of time. There is a clear and obvious difference: They've worked on their idea on how to play whereas we are at best organised. They show us up every time. It will not matter how many players Bruce is given, he'll never, ever come to the conclusion that football teams can be coached, not only trained. Potter is good at it too, which makes it even more telling.
