He knows he’s not getting sacked and he’s just happy to be in a job. He’s probably enjoying trolling the fans with these statements to some extent.

You are giving him too much credit if you think he's capable of trolling, he's too dumb to think beyond the obvious. This is a guy who's idea of tactics is 'let's play!'

I wonder if there are still people who think he's anything other than shit and deserves more time, despite him proving all those pesky negative Nellie's absolutely right by continuing to do what he's done his own career.

Looking back at those subs man, he must be trying to get sacked for his pay off. Surely no football manager can think hoying all your strikers on is the answer?

The fact Jones was banished to the stands and then the back of the dugout speaks volumes about this egotistical wanker. Would rather we lost than give anyone else credit after a win.

Jones not barking out instructions made a huge difference to how we played on saturday. He had been told not to do that last night as Bruce couldn't handle him getting any credit.

My hatred of Bruce has surpassed anything I could ever imagine.

Bruce has achieved something, at NUFC, that I find truly remarkable.  He has made me pine for the management of Alan Pardew!

Old Bacon Face of Trafford used to do the throw all of your centre forwards on thing. The contemptible  Glaswegian git was also never much of a tactical type. Much the same could be said of Sir Bob and Keegan. They were just brilliant motivators and man managers who played players in their strongest positions.

I’m not trying to defend the cabbage but it might explain where the master’s apprentice gets some of his ideas.

Not to the mention that all those managers had much better players at their disposal and the game has changed a lot since then.

Our midfield is sh*t enough already so leaving less than the bare minimum on was always going to be a disaster. Just leads to sideway passing or desperate long balls up which Palace had no trouble dealing with.

He’ll not be sacked any time soon unfortunately.

Been thinking that for a while. SAF obviously had head coaches do the bulk of the training, would change them around every few years (McLaren, Quireoz, Muelensteen) and that's obviously Brucey Bumfuck's copy cat approach as well.

Totally makes sense he'd take a lot from Ferguson's approach to managing in his own approach to management. Worked well enough in first half of his managerial career, but second half, last 10 years he's become more and more redundant as a PL level manager as seasons go by. He was all but done at PL, but we throw him a bone. He'd have no doubt been sacked/walked from Sheff Wed by now without promoting them, and no other PL side we're going to be giving him a job after failing at Villa.

His interview on BBC sport is frightening. Finally, he says he didn't bother changing anything for 18months as the players liked playing 'Rafa's way', sitting deep, and it was going well enough. Now he's decided to do things 'his way', which means essentially bringing in Jones to do the coaching directional change.

Wait what the fuck, Jones was in the stands?!

He started there but came down when we conceded. Then largely sat at the back of the dugout but he was on the sidelines sometimes. A definite difference from the Everton game though.

He’d have absolutely hated the reaction to Jones after Saturday

Yeah, I cannot believe how thin-skinned he is.

Proper sensitive.  Presumably due to his ridiculously low ability and him knowing he's been winging it for all these years but without it ever being magnified quite this much.

Has it ever actually worked? (The moronic striker thing he continues to do?)

I’m not a football manager but surely the move is being on Matty or Anderson for Hendrick. Bring on Saint Maxi for Fraser. Bring on Joelinton for Almiron or something and keep or adjust the players to stay in the diamond? If diamond is not the formation then keep a semblance of a midfield with fullbacks.

Saw it almost work for Bobby in the 4-4 vs Troyes in the Intertoto

McLaren used to do it with Boro in their Uefa cup run and almost made it

Sickening. We always seem adamant on clinging on to the shittest of the shit managers as long as possible. Bunch of backwards bastards running our club.

He's still coming out with this shite FFS - he's been here 18 months!

"I said about a month ago after Sheffield United, we are going to try to change.

"The players had been comfortable for a long time. We are trying to change. It's what I want to do and I think the players are enjoying it"
