Joelinton - To Miss Rest of Season with Knee Injury (Hope)

Recommended Posts

We'll miss his physical presence for sure.

Willock will be fine v Everton, but his lack of defensive nouse will need to be covered in the next three.

I trust that Howe has been working on a solution since the weekend.

Huge miss, people don't appreciate how good he is until he's not playing and we look all over the place in the middle .  Could be the difference between 5th and 6th him being injured .

If Willock plays like he did against Ipswich Tonali will have to cover even more than he usually does.

Numerous options to get through the last 4.

1. Miley/Willock/Longstaff in as much a like-for-like as they can get.

2. Gordon comes back into the XI, Tonali & Bruno as a midfield two, double pivot or whatever it's called now, and either Barnes just off Isak with Gordon on the left, or vice versa

3. Botman back into the side and we replicate how we played against Arsenal in the cup.

It's between Gordon or Schar with Botman at CB imo.

We've been crying out for a bit pace at the back so I'd go gordon as well

The next few games should suit Willock, at least. He’ll get far more space and opportunities on the counter.

If ever there was a time for him to get a run in the team and play himself into some form……

Willock will be fine there, got two top internationals in the other two CM positions. We’ll just miss his combativeness when we play Arsenal away, but outside that, should manage things and any dropped points won’t be because of no Joelinton.

Hope he grabs it with both hands like Harvey did! (He does like a goal v Chewsee).
