That he's kept doing it his way, playing that destroyer role while adding goals to his game as well., has got him there. If he wasn't going to get a call up after a season like that, it might have put nagging doubts in his head about trying to change his game to get into the squad. Instead, Brazil are thinking differently and changing their approach by bringing in Joelinton. Well done Big Joe, you deserve every success and accolade that comes your way. I always remembered that interview against Norwich when the reporter said, 'We knew you were good, we didn't know you were that good'. He got slaughtered for saying it but we were all thinking the same thing. Alongside Sean Longstaff saying that he was the player you wanted on team in training. Now we get it! This is the biggest redemption arc we will surely see as a player at the toon. He fully deserves his call up. It would help if Southgate wasn't allergic to calling up Newcastle players. I can't understand how Gallagher is in the England squad over Longstaff for example. Willock too if he wasn't injured.
