Joelinton: will not play against Everton (Howe)

Recommended Posts

Very pissed off that we are going to lose him against teams we can win against. Him and Bruno end up making fouls trying to cover all areas of the pitch because the likes of Longstaff can't control the ball without taking three touches.

Barely forgivable miss but very disappointed about his suspension. He's so critical to us and has probably been our most consistent player since the turn of the year. Bruno is going to have to pick his arse up off the ball and hopefully Willock can come in and do well.

Think and hope the rest will do him

good. Seems to be half fit to me and his been playing through a niggly injury of some kind ever since he first signed, I think!

Just hope we can get a couple of wins in ‘easier’ fixtures without him.

Has it always been a 2 game suspension after the 10th yellow? Feels so harsh

I think so. If you're getting booked in half of the games you play then I think it's reasonable. A lot of his cards are avoidable too.

Yeah, he gets a fair few for dissent or getting overly aggressive with players

Whilst I loved that side of his game when the rest of our players didn't give a shit I'd like to see him calm down a bit on that side as missing him for 2 games is far from ideal

Have a feeling with maxi being injured we will revert back to the two Joe's on the left/middle for the man utd game

Exactly what I was about to post. He'll come in on the left and interchange with Willock down that side if Maxi's hamstring is still not right after the break.

Edit: he'll probably come in even if Maxi is fit to be honest.

Aye in a perfect world he'd come in for Longstaff but we're so thin on the wings that putting him on the left to get that Willock linkup going is a no-brainer.

Would love to see Targett in there too, think that trio down the left would be able to create some good stuff going forward.

Forgot Howe hauled him off last night.

Nope, Eddie said ASM had a calf strain and was struggling, it's why he moved him in the middle the last 5 minutes of the first half. He had to come off.

ASM struggling with his hamstring still, apparently. Certainly looked like he wasn’t trying to go past players the last two games.

Hopefully ASM is fine after the break

and I’d keep him on the left. But As much as I’d like to see Joelinton come in for Longstaff. It’s an easy call for Howe to bring the Big Joe/Little Joe combo back on the left.
