ponsaelius
Pretty sure that rumour was started as a joke by some guy on Twitter about his inevitable career path, which then got lost in translation as a genuine rumour by the Turkish press, and has now made its way back here. mrmojorisin75
There’s is absolutely no way the club are prepared to lose a £40m investment for what would be a significantly reduced fee. He’s has a bad season, he’s young. People are too quick to write players off. I’m still in the camp that he’ll come good in the right circumstances. It's very hard to see anything in him that suggests he'll succeed without better coaching for him and those around him. But you're correct about writing young players off imo. LoveItIfWeBeatU
So has Joelinton got an identical twin brother? NUFC thought they'd bought the brother who plays football but there must have been a switch done. No? Well his Hoffenheim team mates must have done some spectacular work in games to make Joelinton look good enough for the NUFC scout/s to be interested in him (especially for £40m). number9shirt
The rumour is signing Joelinton for £40m was a sweetner to get Saint-Maximin for £16m. Does signing him make it worth while?
David Edgar
The rumour is signing Joelinton for £40m was a sweetner to get Saint-Maximin for £16m. Does signing him make it worth while? Nope. ASM isn't a £40/50m player.

James
Made the point of this in another thread but against West Ham he didn’t bother to chase down a nearby full back giving them loads of time on the ball. The good ball they made up field led to a 5-10 min spell of West Ham domination where they had several shots and corners. If he can’t even be trusted to close down a full back having just come on as a sub, what can he be trusted for?

xLiaaamx
I genuinely saw more in Emmanuel Riviere than I do in this guy. There just nothing that stands out. He's slow, he's weak for his size. His touch is poor. He can't pass it very well. He can't dribble. He can't shoot. If he was truly "being used wrong" I'd still expect some talent to be showing. KaKa
Cannot play up top alone in Steve Bruce's teams. He might look like a target man physically, but he isn't. They cannot play the ball to his feet consistently enough for him to ever do anything good playing that lone striker role, so it's a bloody waste of time. I hoped that at the very least the manager had realised this from last season. Hopefully it was only due to having a lack of other options. Loan another striker asap and stop the foolishness. Menace
He's rotten. Simple as that. That chance when he had 3 players around him and decided to take a shoot and the ball just trickled across the ground basically summed him up. Shola had better movement than this guy and he basically just jogged.
mighty__mag
He's gonna join those list of players we sign and send out on loan season after season to shite clubs, because nobody will be daft enough to buy him.
KaKa
nah, don't think so. Klopp likes him and has already used a player we got relegated with previously to go on and win the league, and so knows we specialise in mismanaging players. Should try and swap him for Brewster or Origi who are both available and are more in line with what Bruce prefers.
