The clip of his "tackle" on Kudus is going round Twitter a fair bit. People seem to think it's dangerous/reckless/etc. I don't think it's that bad. He's ends up wrapping his legs round his waist is all, I get why Kudus is angry because Joelinton stops him getting up off the floor but the challenge was not dangerous IMO.

I must be one of a few that's tired of him just giving fouls away cause he mistimes his tackle/positioning.

It was fun at first but most of the time it's just completely unnecessary. His legs are definitely going and we should be looking at a replacement.

Absolutely love Joelinton, and he will forever be a legend in my eyes, but tackles like that one on Kudus are reckless and hes fortunate hes never been sent off for us. There will come a time when those challenges become more of a liability for us then a benefit and I think thats probably getting close now.

It is surprising that he has never been sent off in a competitive game for us. It was an ugly and needless challenge.

It’s understandable seeing as he’s a converted forward who is radge as fuck. But his tackling technique is woeful and I’m surprised he hasn’t seriously injured someone yet. The one on Saka after about 30 seconds was equally as bad.

No problem with him taking a yellow to stop a counter. But he didn’t need to nearly start a riot with a challenge like that.

Still funny though……

I freaking hate this yellow to both players sometimes. It's the goto lazy solution for the refs. Just recently a defender held Dan Burn with both arms and wrestled him to the ground on a corner, while Dan Burn did nothing other than trying to run around the defender. The solution? Yellow card to both.[emoji38] Apparently being a victim of wrestling is a yellow.

Kudus making a small push as a reaction to a nasty tackle doesn't warrant a yellow..

Some very important context that I hope doesn't get forgotten - that tackle came immediately after we'd been taking the piss with some oles.

To go from that to "bah gawd King that's Joelinton's music" was pure poetry.

You need a mad hard bastard in your club every top side has had one. The tackle was an orange card for me. Some ref's yellow it some will red it. I love Joe , if he's ever gonna get a red I hope its a non game effecting one on a complete cunt. Like chinning Arteta or a certain former striker.

Ramsay will end up replacing him.

He's definitely been a long way off his best for most of the season but he's an incredible option off the bench if we're winning. He made them cry yesterday.

Ludicrous tackle on Kudus, a red in any language. Hilarious.

they're terrible and it's a sign of player's who knows the passion merchant bs is valid way to masquerade poor play with fans

It's all laughs as it came in a win but the energy would change were his actions costly

you can be aggressive and front footed without being a liablity, e.g.  Bruno and Tonali

I'm tired of his antics

In the ideal version of our football Joe is our finisher. He comes on at 70 minutes and just beats fuck out of the opposition.

Choke holds, clotheslines, Zangief dropkicking people into the dirt. He’s essentially a real wrestler who’s Kayfabing as a footballer
