That means back up striker is not our priority this summer

It never was. Centre half & right winger was always the priority. We’ll get a back up striker tho

Wilson also said recently he has aspirations of going to the World Cup he’ll not get there sitting on the bench behind Isak. He’ll go somewhere else to start games

Surely he knows that Isak will always be #1, almost regardless of how good form he gets into.

Someone might want to have a word with Callum if he thinks he's going to be anyway near the world cup squad like.

He will be lucky if he's at a PL side next season.

My guess is that he ends up at: Everton, Burnley, Leeds, West Ham... if he's very lucky someone like Forest might see him as a cheap option from the bench for a season.

Haha, and I’ve got aspirations of a date with Ana de Armas.

If that’s true, he needs to wake up.

Calm down people. This is a polite way to say thank you and goodbye. Most likely our offer is so low and he isn't playing here, so obviously he is going to leave.

Would be quite surprised if he stayed here playing 5 games a year.

Can’t knock his mentality tbf. Thats why I think he’ll want to go to a mid table side where he’ll start most of their games if fit

There isn't actually a whole lot in that article from Ornstein. All its saying is that we're not willing to extend his current contract, which I think most people would see as a positive, but we're going to talk to him and his representatives, to see if we can find a deal that'll suit us. The article doesn't even say that we've offered him a deal, just that we're in negotiations, which is something I would expect basically any club to do when a players contract is expiring, very rarely do clubs just cease talking to players when the season ends if their contract is up. I'm not sure there is really a whole lot to get worked up about that this point to be honest.

👍🏻 Yeah but that take doesn’t precede endless debate, clicks and angst [emoji38]

Option from the bench when Isak needs a rest and the game is won already is one thing Isak out for 6 or 12 weeks and Wilson being "it" is a frightening possibility from a back up who currently offers a body with zero goal threat.

Thats why its going to be a priority to get someone in. Even if Eddie was blind enough to not see this(which is doubt he is), the board and Paul Mitchell isnt going to be.

We have decided not to make use of our option to extend his contract, think that says it all.

Yep, and this is why we should have been giving Osula more minutes, especially when we had games won, and should be in pre-season/next season. Not saying he should be the back up to Isak (yet), but can't have helped him seeing Wilson come on repeatedly and making little difference on the pitch.
