gdm Posted Monday at 11:25 Share Posted Monday at 11:25 Wilson also said recently he has aspirations of going to the World Cup he’ll not get there sitting on the bench behind Isak. He’ll go somewhere else to start games

He will be lucky if he's at a PL side next season. My guess is that he ends up at: Everton, Burnley, Leeds, West Ham... if he's very lucky someone like Forest might see him as a cheap option from the bench for a season. KingArthur Posted Monday at 11:38 Share Posted Monday at 11:38 (edited) Calm down people. This is a polite way to say thank you and goodbye. Most likely our offer is so low and he isn't playing here, so obviously he is going to leave. Would be quite surprised if he stayed here playing 5 games a year. Thats why I think he’ll want to go to a mid table side where he’ll start most of their games if fit
54 Posted Monday at 11:40 Share Posted Monday at 11:40 There isn't actually a whole lot in that article from Ornstein. All its saying is that we're not willing to extend his current contract, which I think most people would see as a positive, but we're going to talk to him and his representatives, to see if we can find a deal that'll suit us. The article doesn't even say that we've offered him a deal, just that we're in negotiations, which is something I would expect basically any club to do when a players contract is expiring, very rarely do clubs just cease talking to players when the season ends if their contract is up. I'm not sure there is really a whole lot to get worked up about that this point to be honest.

relámpago blanco Posted Monday at 11:43 Share Posted Monday at 11:43 He would be better off signing for a championship club. He's finished at prem level but would probably score a hateful in the championship

nufcjmc Posted Monday at 11:59 Share Posted Monday at 11:59 Option from the bench when Isak needs a rest and the game is won already is one thing Isak out for 6 or 12 weeks and Wilson being "it" is a frightening possibility from a back up who currently offers a body with zero goal threat. Bunk Moreland Posted Monday at 12:00 Share Posted Monday at 12:00 Hopefully offering him a deal with a view to making him our striker of last resort in the event that the two ahead of him aren't able to play. Yes, I'm coping!
Shadow Puppets Posted Monday at 12:03 Share Posted Monday at 12:03 I personally wouldn’t mind too much if he stayed for another year on an incentive based contract, providing we sign a RW who can also play ST (cough, Mbeumo, cough).
The Prophet Posted Monday at 12:04 Share Posted Monday at 12:04 Sounds like what Everton did with Doucoure. We've offered him peanuts, as most likely a third choice striker. He'll no doubt turn it down.

We have decided not to make use of our option to extend his contract, think that says it all. Edited Monday at 12:07 by Displayname

Optimistic Nut Posted Monday at 12:08 Share Posted Monday at 12:08 Massive paycut as 3rd choice with someone like Delap coming in as number 2 would let Osula go out on loan for a year, see if he can get 15-20 goals in The Championship. Sheffield United maybe?

Yep, and this is why we should have been giving Osula more minutes, especially when we had games won, and should be in pre-season/next season. Not saying he should be the back up to Isak (yet), but can't have helped him seeing Wilson come on repeatedly and making little difference on the pitch. Chris_R Posted Monday at 12:23 Share Posted Monday at 12:23 "Pay as you play" *sounds* harmless, but if its minutes instead of Osula then it's not harmless at all.
