Callum Wilson set to be out for around 8 weeks with new hamstring injury (Howe)

It is and it isn’t. He’s one of the few players we could get a fee out of. I’d prefer to sell but it’s not easy selling a player who can’t play more than one in three matches. If he does stay, at least we know he can perform

I’m absolutely positive we’ll sign another striker even if it’s a young development prospect relying on potential rather than anything proven

I remember bumping into Xisco in Aspers circa 2012 and him confirming that he was looking forward to being back in the team.

Um ... probably shouldn't be dissuading him from any move tbh. If we get a decent bid we should sell. Can't see him getting a new contract so he'll be leaving on a free in a year anyway.

Don't know who this guy is, but he's had a mare.

I'm not positive at all. Strikers at a young age who can hit the ground running are not that easy to find, especially at PL level.

I think it's more likely we'll end up going with Wilson for his final season and crossing our fingers him and Isak aren't injured at the same time.

I really like him and he’s brought us some great goals and moments. But now he really can’t be relied upon for anything other than being a squad player or on the bench. When he’s available.

Hope I’m wrong and he starts the majority of games. If he does, he get 20 plus goals easily.

Instead of or alongside Isak ?

I just don’t get why this is still acceptable. A player who repeatedly cannot contribute and as a result our best player has too much of a workload. It’s actually outrageous.

I really don’t think they have a choice, they need someone to take the load from Isak and play more minutes even if it’s a Chris Wood type option or young development option as you say. A bonafide second striker option would be ideal but that will probably come down to outgoings. Deeper striker options could mean the difference between Europe or not and could in effect cost Howe his job. If he does stay it’s almost got to the job point with Wilson that anything is a bonus. We know he scores goals, he’s just never available.

Yeah you’d hope so. Isak, Wilson a 3rd striker and a new RW and let’s go 💪

A slight niggle to Isak, and we have no experienced senior striker available to start the season, and take advantage of some really good fixtures.

We really need options there. Ideally the right winger can also play upfront, and we also sign an additional striker. We have to move forward as though Wilson will never be available, and just take it as a bonus when he is.
