I'm still having nightmares about that bit in the Cup Final where he tries to run the ball into the corner, weakly loses it and pathetically tries to chase the Liverpool player. It spoilt the whole day for me. If that's true you're more fragile than Callum
Optimistic Nut
Love Wilson and we possibly wouldn't have had that Champions League campaign without him. The build up to the World Cup when Isak was injured he was on fire, but has to go this summer. If we don't quite trust Osula yet I'd sooner see us go with Gordon up top for 20 minutes or so if Isak isn't able to.
The College Dropout
I'm a super Cal fan but lad doesn't look like he has much left to give at this level. Thanks for the memories and goals lad.
duo
Ad much as Eddie loves Callum there is no way they are extending his contract.

GallowgatePigeon
Typical. This is the one period of his career I wouldn't have minded him being out injured so Osula would get more of a chance and Wilsons reputation would remain intact, I can't remember seeing such a tragically 'past it' player as him in recent weeks. La Parka
Could see him doing a job at a lesser club like Manu or spurs.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
He’s been a brilliant player for us overall but his decline this season has been extremely evident. I don’t think he’s up to this level and the idea of simply renewing his contract to potentially sell him for a fee seems quite naive.
ryanegg
He’s been a great servant. Always gives 100% and we have to remember the mental impact injuries have probably taken on him too. I’m not sure there will be many takers for him given his injury record which is such a shame. I’d love for him to stay if he could prove his ability still, but unfortunately it doesn’t look that way. If he decides to retire, would be all for keeping him on in some sort of role.
Ste
FFP kinda fucks up players like him, beforehand you'd fancy a lot of the bottom half clubs or newly promoted team next season to risk giving him a deal but I don't think FFP allows the gamble now. Superior Acuña
I wouldn't rule out him having another good run in him, but he's not showing enough for us to persist just in case that comes. Would love him to get a last goal in a dead rubber once we've tied up second place.

Just needs like 1 decent cross in the box in open play or corner kick

The smarts are still there, you can see that by how he ran the clock down in the cup final, but he has no acceleration now, and he just looks too slow to make an impact. Dr.Spaceman
He'd be fine playing for someone who just wants a number 9 to stand centrally and feed off some inside forwards or an AM. Until his body gives up again. Edited 12 hours ago by Dr.Spaceman

alexf
Every chance he's playing within himself also to avoid further injury setbacks and to try and stay available for selection. We've seen it many times with players that are prone to bad muscle injuries, the likes of Dyer and Owen, used to look like they were too scared to fully sprint anymore or their hamstring would ping. Saint Maximin was like this in his final season. However with Callum, it's probably a combination of that plus his age and the accumulation of injuries impacting what he can do physically now.
