The alternative being the other 14 teams are the bitches of the “big six” and bow to their every whim? Fuck that.

Personally I agree with you. I just don't think the clubs or the PL will.

Agreed. I keep reading that nobody will want to watch the domestic leagues anymore, that's crazy talk.

Nobody's going to choose a glorified friendly tournament over a real one once the novelty has worn off.

Is anybody outside England going to watch the PL though? Not that it really matters as long as those in England keep supporting their teams. I think if done right a Super League could have got basically a monopoly on global fans but the plans themselves are terrible

I'm looking forward to the blue pitches with a huge Pepsi logo in the centre circle and drinks brinks sponsored by Gatorade.

Could they not just make it a five a side tournament held in a cage on a big ship?

The fevered excitement as soccer fans all over Asia and America gather round the telly to watch Manchester Red Devils vs Inter Milan Gladiators for the 15th time this season, both teams battling to avoid the inconsequential shame of finishing 12th

Simon Jordan rumbling on about how this is just a power play to get what they want with regards to the CL and it'll never actually happen. Even if that is the case, 1. That's a massive risk and 2. They're surely still punishable for the rules they've broken.

They might get what they want in regards to the CL but why would it matter if that means you're kicked out of the league?

Aye, but there doesn't seem to be an automatic link between breaking a rule and expulsion as a sanction.

In that case, maybe the other 14 teams could leave and rejoin the Football League.  You'd then need to change the rules of the FL to stop promotion to the PL, but if that happened there would be the desired effect of excluding the 6 from domestic league competition.

They won't be kicked out of the leagues though.
