Loads mocked the signing, but his record is exceptional and he has always looked in great shape and not one that was deteriorating physically at all. They didn't even have to buy him. The guy was on a free. The signing itself wasn't mocked. The desperation was mocked. We had targets identified and didn't sign them then had to fuck about on the last day trying to sign 33 year old free agents. Even at that Cavani has had a great attitude and work rate.
