Newcastle United 0-0 Liverpool - 30/12/2020

Buzzing with that! Just shows that all we ever want to see and ask for is a bit of energy and desire despite what the pundits say. Shelvey and Sean should never get back in or at least not play together in the middle again. Having some energy with Hayden and Matty made all the difference. No way we get that result with Shelvey and Sean Longstaff strolling about and running through treacle

Fucking hell...

27% possession. 2 shots on target. At home.

Agree with those saying we didn't play any differently.

1) Liverpool's high line was exploited well by Wilson in the first half.

2) Liverpool's very slow tempo suited us to get back, could say we were more organized for a change.

3) We had a lot of good individual performances.

Defensively in the individual sense, we were fantastic. In the team sense, defensively we were a joke, cut to shreds at times with only last gasp challenges and brilliant saves keeping them out. Based on that, we'll scrape to about 35 points and probably stay up but Christ, football is supposed to be an escape, not a reflection of life.

Personally think that Joelinton attempt is something that should be encouraged rather than mocked - super difficult to pull off and glad he had the creativity of mind and courage to attempt it!

£40m. £60k a week. Sunday league effort.

That was a much more tolerable performance. Darlow was superb. I can't see a way in for Dubravka at the moment, he'll have to wait it out even if he's back to full fitness.

Wilson does make such a difference, like. He's deceptively quick and strong.

Exactly. Some heroic stuff from certain individuals, but we looked a mess defensively IMO.

Would love to have seen Big Andy's attempt in a similar position but he might have ended up in a wheelchair if not on the sofa.

Some of the defending was very last ditch like but it was excellent in those moments.

They've actually mentioned this perfromance shutting a few people up!

Its almost like we went out and twonked them 5-0, we desperately scraped a 0-0 draw having mid 20% possession and Liverpool had at least 3 easy chances.

It's so depressing how far our fanbases expectations have fallen.

Is it too much to ask for us to go out and actually pass the ball, press, i dunno even maybe have a plan. I mean you know the usual football things, its lifeless.
