Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Will always look good when he can focus on getting forward and getting on the ball. It’s going the other way I worry but that wasn’t an issue today and he was great, outshone McAtee who you’d say is a contemporary. Wanted him to score so badly and he definitely deserved one.

Will do wonders for him that game. Looked good from start to finish and looked like he belonged. Good ball control, good decision making, good short passing. His header was mint too, he looks good in the air. He looks more at home in that midfield position now than he has further up previously, think he will bring some of the ball carrying ability Willock does in that position.

Looks like we have another first team player from Newcastle. Happy days.

Miley up next.

Could get used to this.

Longstaff - Miley - Anderson

Keeping out Tonali and Bruno

He's been consistently showing signs that he can put in PL level performances this season. He links the midfield with attack really well and is excellent at recycling the ball. Absolutely delighted for him.

You probably get this all the time, but are you actually Clint Dempsey?

Haha, that would’ve been something. Haven’t ever figured out how to change my username since I had a man crush on ‘Deuce’ since before he signed for Fulham. ?

That midfield wouldn't look out of place against the bottom teams in this league imo. Saying that as a compliment. Got a good balance to it. Would love to see them play together if we were to get a lower league team in one of the domestic cups.

he made 12 progressive passes yesterday, which is the most anyone's played in a game for us this season.

tbh his data is always really good. Small sample size from his minutes but vs midfielders from big 5 leagues over the past year:

Thought he was the best I’ve seen from him in ages. Was the player I saw in preseason. He’s gotta use his strength and brain to his advantage because he’s really damn good. He’s got quite a unique way he shifts the ball and creates space for himself.

What I love is that he is always showing for the ball, and when he doesnt get it, he is visibly upset.

Think we have missed a few passes to him where he was in such a great position to played in.

His positioning is really good

He reminds me a bit like Phil Foden.
