@Heron is there anything in the flag storage that could be held up on Wednesdays for Willock / against this kind of thing? I know they do that annual thing when the league do. But be a good message putting it out again at the game to show him (and the others) we aren’t like that and are behind them etc

These "fans" need hunting down and made to stand in front of the gallowgate and make an apology to Joe's face in front of a crowd.

Little keyboard warriors need to learn there's consequences for toxic comments like this, its disgusting and I really want to see them punished for it. Vile behaviour man.

Careful mate, you'll be locked up for disgusting comments about the victim like that.

Based on the screen grabs Willock posted, I doubt they’ve ever been in the UK let alone SJP.

It's not on of course but a part of me feels like with the fact that any 12 year old from a far away country can write whatever they want on a social media post it should just be ignored and the account banned, making any scene of it seems to amplify the issue and might encourage other trolls to do the same.

Sort of see where you’re coming from. Vinicius is a good example of what can happen I guess.

Abuse like this should never be normalised as part of an emotional fan reaction. It's got to be called out, condemned, and there should be consequences.

There's also got to be a fan response of support. Singing for the player, positive social media messages, and in our case a flag if possible.

Let these freaks know their behaviour is unacceptable.

They’re randomers who’ve never stepped foot in Europe and probably had a Newcastle result in a bet. Do you think they’re remotely arsed?

I mean they're clearly not bothered, because otherwise they wouldn't write such things...

However, it doesn't mean they

a) should be free from consequence e.g ban their social media account, shame and ridicule their remarks

b) should think their views are supported or the majority

e.g show public support for the player from a majority

It reads like it's someone from a country with much bigger problems with online racism than we have here. For whatever little that's worth.

I think it's worth quite a lot. I would hope Willock knows he's not being stabbed in the back by people who should think of him as one of their own. I think feeling you can't trust the people around you would be way more distressing than it being some dickhead half a world away.

Definitely would like to see more support for him shown at the next opportunity.
