We need a CM regardless of whether he's fine or not. I doesn't even need to be an expensive one. Yet I'm not confident that we will get one until I see it.

Under Eddie he’s… regressed.

He played with freedom as their was no tactics.

I actually think his best spell was when the two joes switched on the left.

Seven straight goals in seven straight games during that loan spell to tie Shearer.

Aye, I think he scored 8 in 8 that he played in, but it wasn’t a straight run for Newcastle as we played Arsenal who he was ineligible to play against.

If he’s not seriously injured we should be doing everything in our power to sell him this window. The chances of him having a meaningful positive impact on this upcoming season are minute

Yeah, he did well under Bruce because his only job was to work out how to win us games and stop us getting relegated. Which he did well.

I rarely criticise our players since Eddie, almost never advocate selling them at a loss. But ffs there's simply no hope for Willock, I'd honestly just pay off his contract.. He seems so out of it mentally ever since that first bad injury. Hopefully, he's not hurt seriously of course but he tends to overreact every time he's kicked now. Pointless even getting into his glaring technical limitations..

Joe White seems like he lacks the required dynamism even for the Championship but it's gotten to the point that I think even he would contribute more, if he trains with the first team and features as regularly as Willock. At least he counts as homegrown at the club

Based on nothing, I’ve never spoken to him or heard him talk about it, but I wonder sometimes if he struggles with his mental health. Whether that’s a struggle caused in part by injuries or self doubt or whatever, he just doesn’t seem the same. The Willock in Howes first full season was such a huge asset to the team, I’d love to see him get back anywhere back close to that as unlikely as that seems. He seems a good guy.

It wasn't only that assist, far from it. We were already praising him before that game, that assist was just the icing on the cake. That assist is just what really sticks in our memory.

He's essentially said that he has in the past.

Whether that's a good enough excuse etc. is up for debate, but I think it's fair to guess he's not always focused on his football.
