Was baffled how Wissa came out in the 2nd half and Willock didn't. Edited February 7 by duo

He is one of the only positives from the last 4 games. Granted it’s a low bar. Both Ramsey and Willock fall into the category of "nearly a good player" for me. We seem to have quite a few of those. Guybrush
Feel like he's having a bit of renaissance. Was very positive in the first half, but you could tell he was already gassed coming off at half time.

Think you are right but also hard to tell when they don't even "nearly get a run of games" consistently. Its what both clearly need. I think we all know that with Willock. Thats been his conundrum (outside multiple injuries - also a Ramsey complaint). At their best and fit they can be huge for us. We just don't have the time and points to sacrifice with their inevitable mediocre performances that happen getting them up to speed. Its where I miss the old days of first team players playing in the reserves to get match fitness. Everything is so overloaded fixtures and highs takes wise, whether thats avoiding injury or not taking time away from youth players that also need it. huss9
not sure why he was subbed off today.
AyeDubbleYoo
Yeah, thought he was unlucky to go off, but I guess you can't take off Bruno or Tonali.
Gallowgate Toon
He did look pretty gassed after about 30, from my view, and it looked like a clear gap was emerging as he wasn't covering defensively. Bright going forward though.
Erikse
We have actually been seeing glimpses of the Willock from 2-3 years ago lately. Edited February 10 by Erikse
On the Grid
Hammy tweaked though?
TBG
Sue the Premier League, should've flagged him immediately offside, if they had, he likely wouldn't have pulled it running through on goal. Edited February 10 by TBG
Newcastle Fan
So happy with him lately, really putting in a 100% every time he's on the pitch. shouldn't lose his place in the side at the moment.
Guybrush
A fit Willock is a great Willock.
Aiston
Excellent game. Should have came off when Ramsey did instead mind, he was dead on his feet for a long time.
Moose
That's the Willock we know and love! Albeit against League 1 calibre opposition.
KaKa
Great game. Well done man.
GOTONEW
He was superb in the first half. Good in the second. A performing Willock can only be excellent news for us.
pedro111
He's been great lately. Really gutted about the offside goal. What a sickener for him.

Pilko
Great again, he's had a really good few weeks. A real renaissance when he looked absolutely out of the picture.
Andy
Was the actual MotM tonight, he was everywhere. Good to see him finally looking like his old self.
Lush Vlad
Should have come off when Ramsey did. He was looking fucked from about 55 minutes It won’t always work and it is probably more suited to away games like that one. But the legs of that front 3 and the runners either side of Bruno in the middle gives us some much needed energy and mobility.

He was fantastic, ran himself into the ground. That goal was beautifully taken and it wasn't offside either. Fuck VAR.
Donut
Excellent tonight... If he can stay fit and keep going he will be useful. How many times have we said that though?
Disco
Great goal. Probably our best player first half and he soldiered on in the second. Good to see him putting a small run of form together, hopefully he can stay injury free until the seasons end.

That's the issue, he yo-yo's between injuries form and out of form. Definition of a confidence player.
