Pardew essentially had a job for life (even when his position was untenable to the point of him not being able to enter the technical area without getting boo'd and forced to sit down) and Bruce likely has the same unless he decides to quit. It's inexplicable but that's just the way Ashley is.

Absolutely nothing can or will change this.

I also think it suggests relegation isn't necessarily a big deal financially. Not in the way it's sold as being anyway.

Correct. Doesn’t affect Ashley at all.

Ashley spending millions to try and fight for a takeover, whilst keeping the fat flid in charge of the team who is going to knock 100 million value of the club and most likely kill the takeover.

Makes no sense at all. Even for Ashley it doesn’t. Hope the fat cunt kicks the bucket very soon.

It’s not his money. It’s the clubs.

From the outside I'm surprised. I'm well versed in Ashley not caring one iota about improvement, ambition etc but I thought the distinct threat of him losing potential millions in any sale would force him into action.

I know you will get the conspiracy theories that he hates Geordies and wants us to suffer, but the reality is probably more mundane. He knows nothing about football, and being thin skinned he only hires toadies and friends to look after the club. That's why we had Llambias, a casino manager, and now Charnley who's more of a PA, again no football background to speak of given the responsibility of running a football club.

The pair of them most likely don't really have any idea where to turn next. When you are ringing Joe Kinnear or Graham Carr for advice then you can understand why they are sitting on their hands hoping it all goes away.

I don't care about people having no experience. Sure Charnley had no experience when he was appointed, but now he has the experience so that excuse no longer washes, and he's still shit and still under no threat of being replaced.

Anyone can gain experience. Not everyone gains competence and at this club a lack of competence isn't a hindrance to continued employment and that's why we never move towards.

Well yes, Charnley has more experience now, but he's still not a football man so it means nothing. He wasn't brought to NUFC for his inside knowledge of football, he was brought here to put stamps on envelopes, but somehow got give the job of DOF because Ashley wants yes men first and foremost, competence would be a nice bonus.

Only reason I can think he is still here is bacause there is a relegation clause in his contract and we save a few quid kicking him out.  Not a reason to keep him by any stretch, he should have been gone weeks ago and better still, never hired in the first place.

Sadly nothing about this club represents anything remotely sporting now. Zero ambition and zero leadership and a team (even with a better manager) that is deviod of quality, aside a handful of players.

Its been pretty dire since day one with Ashley but somehow we are now hitting new levels of utter shite.

We wont bounce back in a hurry after this relegation.

Tbf Insider haven't been too far off the mark recently

Would be interesting to know which 'stars' they were, one thing I read seemed to imply Carroll and Gayle stomped off at full time. Not that I think any of it'll make a difference, not while Bruce has enough players to field a team per match.

Chinese whispers at this stage from what the original source would have been all the way to the person who told me, but far too entertaining to not pass on in the event it's not bullshit: apparently some of the players will suggest putting up the cash themselves to get Bruce out

Absolutely nothing surprising or unexplainable how he's still in a job, said it months ago, he won't be sacked unless we're in the bottom 3 at the very least. He's fulfilling his remit.

Imagine that at the training ground  two weeks wages each in the biscuit tin then let's go to Charnley's office and get it done

The thick cunts in charge will sit on their arses all international break and then sack the bastard after the Spurs game.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but if Bruce is still here next week it means that Ashley reckons he can challenge relegation through the courts. I really couldn’t see any other logical explanation

As bad as this is looking with the club still backing him, it'll just get worse for Bruce staying on in the job and consistently losing with poor performances once we're back after the international break. There is no doubt and no way the players will be putting any effort and shift for the bacon cunt anymore. That vote of confidence from Ashley will do much worse now for Bruce compared to walking out. He looks a loser one way or another

Think its quite clear Ritchie, Carroll, Gayle, Lascelles, the Longstaffs, Anderson, probably Hayden all despise him as much as us tbh.

Add Schar to that list, and Lejeune if he was here. Schar always looks like he can't believe how thick Bruce is.
