Every week I think it won't get worse and it always does. I honestly don't see any positives either today or going forward. Scum in every direction, no hope whatsoever.

But I am starting to see that relegation is our best chance of healing. 16th/17th every year is awful, we have to have a mass cull both on and off the pitch.

I still expect you to do something in January, if not sooner. I have a feeling that we might be interested in Ayoze Perez in Jan, and that Ashley may cash in and use that money.

If McLaren gets through this week, then I reckon he makes it until Villa. If you lose that then he's history, and a new manager comes in with I reckon at least two, possibly three big purchases in Jan. If you beat Villa, then I think you're in more trouble, weirdly, as I think he might cling on. And he's shite, he really is.

Allardyce may be turning it around already, and they're getting the breaks. I don't see them making more than one or two buys - do they have room to loan anybody else? Yedlin played the full game again. I don't think a world exists where Villa don't spend this Jan, but I'm not convinced Garde can make enough of a difference. It looks to me like you, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Norwich will be locked together all season.

All those other teams seem to be playing each other a lot around Jan/Feb, whereas your schedule looks pretty scary. If your confidence is shot at that point then I think it's game over.

8 right now, but that's presuming change is around the corner.

If we go down, we wont come straight back up like last time, the majority of our players will fuck off, and we will be left with youngsters and people like Colback and Dummett.

First off, Sissoko, Perez, Mitrovic, Wijnaldum, Janmaat, Krul, Coloccini, Thauvin and Cisse will be out of the door.

Then it's 50/50 whether Anita, Mbemba, De Jong, Tiote have to stay. I'm not convinced they'll have buyers.

That leaves us with Darlow, Elliot, Lascelles, Dummett, Haidara, Williamson, Taylor, Colback, Aarons, Ameobi, Obertan, Gouffran and Armstrong.

Williamson, Taylor and Obertan will be out of contract thankfully.

Who the f*** will want to join us in January when we're at the bottom of the league?

The people we'll attract are foreigners interested only in getting as much money as possible and who couldn't give a s***. We've got plenty of them on the books at the minute.

The usual mercenaries we attract.

Exactly. Players who won't make an ounce of difference.

We have played well today other than a few outbreaks of defensive shitness.

We have missed three sitters and managed six shots on target in 45 minutes which never normally happens

The problem is we are so utterly fucking fragile. The manager has the nack of picking the right team but he just needs to keep the confidence there until January.

If we can stay in touch till January we have a chance. If not, then we are doomed.

Update: we are doomed.

Sorry, man. So are we. It's fucking horrible. I'm going to curl up in a foetal position and I suggest you do the same. Fuck this shit.

Up to a 9 now, and gathering speed faster than a free-faller...clearly McClaren and the players are at loggerheads and the manager knows he cannot do anything to motivate them as they know Ashley won't replace them..and its too late even if he wanted to as no decent players would join the club in January.

Another hammering beckons next week and to be honest, this would do us a favour, esp if the crowd decide to make some form of protest although I won't be holding my breath on THAT one, even less so on the chances of a mini-boycott.

KK could not have made it any plainer than he did when he said the fans need to stay away, but there are some very cranially-challenged people who claim to be NUFC supporters and they are meat and drink for a parasite like Ashley.

Prepare for Championship football next season and for several years after that...

Could still be lucky that there's 3 teams below us who up to now (touch wood) are unable to win home matches against average opposition too. Still might be the saving grace.

3?

I'm struggling to think of one worse, villa maybe but I'd bet on them getting better as time goes on and they still look like they have some fight left in them

This - they have more chance of making decent signings in Jan too.

Amazingly we still aren't cut adrift. In most previous seasons any team with 10 points from 14 games would be miles behind the rest. Relegation could still be avoided with a new inspirational manager and heavy investment in the transfer window (on January the 1st not the 31st) buying/loaning experienced players.

Mike Ashley is desperate for NUFC to remain in the Premiership for next seasons bumper money. If we get relegated he'll be full of ambition to get NUFC promoted back to the Premiership. When it comes to football he never seems to learn from his mistakes though.

Ashley is simply laughable - he is a chancer, purely and simply, allied to a malevolent streak.
