Douglas probably right to point out that we’ve had a good start but from our 9 games, we’ve only played 3 teams who finished in the top half last season. Tougher times to come and it’ll be interesting to see how we manage those games.

Correct but Rafa has a habit of setting us up well in more traditionally difficult games.

Hate to be the one to bump this thread, but two 1-0 defeats to Burnley and Bournemouth in a row with our set of fixtures coming up isn't going to see us too far from the drop zone come January. I think Rafa's doing an amazing job with this team but we're just not scoring goals and it's starting to take it's toll on results. We desperately need the takeover to be done before January so Rafa can go out and buy some attacking players.

Away games are always difficult but you absolutely HAVE to be beating the likes of Bournemouth at home. That late goal didn't even piss me off much, we had to win.

We're average as fuck, just like the vast majority of the league. It was nice to think we weren't for a while.

Losing against Huddersfield, Brighton, Burnley and now Bournemouth at home is very worrying. We need 4 points from Watford & WBA or we could be right down there by the time the transfer window comes around.

Worrying times right now, still think we'll be fine, but Rafa has to find a solution to the lack of goals. The harder schedule may help us in a way, we have generally found it hardest when the onus is on us to attack. If we can get something at Manure, that'll give us a lift, Watford and Brom are beatable, and we'll need to win at least one of those.

We tend to get our best results there when we have a shit team from memory.

1-1 when Andersson scored there in '98, two draws in our relegation seasons (albeit one under Keegan before it all blew up), a draw and a win under Pardew, 0-0 there under Sir Bobby in a season where we only won 2 away all season finishing 5th...

We've done well to get 14pts on board tbh. Not easy to get wins when you've got nothing up front. Every game is going to be a battle, if we stay clear of the relegation area, I will be more than happy with that this season.

I'm sure we didn't have that bad of a team when we beat Man Utd 0-1. It was when we were playing well in the first half of the season with Remy up front. Was before Gouffran turned rubbish too I think.

Man Utd were pretty rubbish then too

0-0 under McClaren as well.
