Best scenario is now that Ashley still sells to whatever chancer is out there who are then able to sell again to Staveley consortium in a couple of years

Might not need to wait that long if she wins the Barclays court case, October could be an interesting month.

I also think Ashley has already done a deal with the American.

Watch some skint cloke come in and pay in installments without a bean to his name, you can bet it will fly through the O&D test.

So exclusivity was a big deal after all!

Nope - was the drop dead date mate that killed it. That's what expired imho.

The exclusivity wasn't going to be a problem in week 1 when they had 16 weeks to get it closed. But the league allowed for this to happen showing no urgency and allowing a lunatic like MA the chance to find a way to sell to someone else.

Massive victory for Penn and Richard Keys. We have been put back in our place and Steve Bruce will be bouncing over to top 6 club managers next season to congratulate them on being so fabulous.

It's not about some forum victory you goofball - it was pure, blind, uncritical optimism to think this deal was ever getting approved. Saudis vs Qataris and you think the PL are siding with the group that have stolen from them on an industrial scale over the side that's put hundreds of millions in their pockets? Time for some on here to reflect why they couldn't see what was staring them in the face.

I'm deleting my account now so don't care but can I just be the first to say fuck of you absolute cunt and I hope you have years with Ashley you prick

Do you reckon it's an outright sale or will it be a joint venture where they can both milk NUFC for all it's worth?

Dont think Ashley would have fucked it tbh. The deal was good for him, as much as I hate him I dont think its on him.

Clearly PIF havent passed the PL tests and there was no way of doing so in their eyes so they've withdrawn to save face. The PL wont need to comment either.

The most gut wrenching thing is the investment into the local area now gone. Would have been good for the region without doubt.

been wondering if thats the case myself. Personally I think if Ashley had fucked it up why wouldn't they say that, no reason not to after all

Would absolutely not surprise me if he did though.

On the bright side this means I’m not going to be sucked back into caring about this rigged sport. Watch that conman Mauriss takeover and turn Newcastle into a lower league club.

They second they failed the test an appeal would have been launched and we'd know about it, non?

Think there is any chance this is brinkmanship?  They basically let Qatar win- which seems unlikely

They will probably invade Qatar now.  They nearly did just that some time ago, but were persuaded not to by the Trump administration, I think it was shortly after he got elected.

So when does the moral crusade against the Premier League's uncomfortably close relationship with human rights abusing, modern slaving, world cup bribing Qatar begin?

Or are all these dropping their morals now, satisfied completely that they've blocked the takeover of a football club. Yeah. That'll solve all their 'genuine' gripes.

The nation that bought the world cup and built their stadia with slave labour living in dogshit conditions tried to play the moral card with piracy

I hope the ones who were against this takeover go full length and boycott the Qatar world cup as well
