Takeover Thread - July 1st statement, Staveley letter to Tracey Crouch (and response) in OP

Recommended Posts

Massive positive the club have confirmed they’ve been taking action.

And it's positive that they have confirmed it is arbitration rather than litigation.

What's that mean?

That it's probably about resolving differences to allow the takeover to go through rather than seeking damages over a failed takeover.

Just what I want to hear. Brilliant.

I'm lost, what are we accusing Ben Jacobs of?

Crimes against intelligence.  Basically, Ben (erm...banned from the BBC for gross misconduct) Jacobs was proving just how far modern journalism has fallen.

Claimed that NCSL had leaked the info that NUFC has started proceedings against PL.  Just two things wrong with that:

1) Any confidentiality agreement will be between the PL and NUFC (think it's actually in the PL rules).  The fact is, PL/their lawyers were the ones to breach that by mentioning it to NCSL.  NCSL simply aren't bound by it.

2) NCSL say the letter they received was leaked (presume this was Ben's flurry of tweets the other day...)

Anyway, Ben is just deflecting, somehow forgetting the amount of agenda-driven info he tweets from his PL source.

Is the Saudis involvement (or supposed lack of) been Sean/Penn/IMTTS's main bone of contention? It's as clear as day that they're still waiting in the wings, imo. No smoke without fire and there's a shitload of smoke.

Why do you believe this is the case?

I can't see any evidence whatsoever that the Saudis are still at the table.

Ashley is pursuing a restraint of trade case against the Premier League, and arbitration is a precursor he has to indulge before going to court.

None of this either requires or suggests the involvement of the Saudis.

The takeover could go thru and this clown would still say they had walked away for good. Dunno why anyone takes notice of anything he posts

The Athletic claim they are as interested as ever if you want an actual source.

Genuine question. Why should we believe anything you say over what local journalists are saying.

Genuinely, if you have information that proves your line of thinking, i'd like to hear it.
