Imagine going from Xavi, Iniesta, D.Villa, Fernando Torres, Cesc, Pedro to that abject pile of poverty they've got in midfield/attack now. Proper shite.

People still treat them like a top level team, but they are so far away from their 2010s sides. Xavi and Iniesta alone are two of the best players ever, to have them both in the same midfield for both club and country was incredible.

Spain are obviously sticking to their short passing style but the reason they were so successful was down to how good their players were, Xavi and Iniesta were just ridiculously good technical players, then you had the likes of Fabregas, Silva and Alonso who couldn't even get into the team half the time, despite being top players.

They also had goalscorers mainly in Villa, and Torres scored a few in big moments.

They are a shadow of that now but seem to be trying to hold on to something that has been and gone.

Just the 35 degrees in Sevilla.

Ridiculous playing a game this early there.
